TROY — A Troy man has been indicted on felonious assault charges after a Miami County grand jury met on Sept. 18.

Michael S. McBride Sr., 45, is being held at the Miami County Jail on two counts of felonious assault, both second-degree felonies. He is being held on a $25,000 cash/surety (with conditions) bond, that was set by Judge Stacy M. Wall on Thursday, Sept. 26.

McBride entered a not guilty plea Thursday, Sept. 26, during his arraignment in the Miami County Common Pleas Court.

According to court documents, on each count, McBride allegedly, on or around Aug. 20, did knowingly cause serious physical harm to an individual. Initially, McBride entered a not guilty plea in the Miami County Municipal Court on Aug. 21 on one felonious assualt charge. Upon hearing evidence presented at the preliminary hearing on Aug. 27, his case was bound over to the Miami County Common Pleas Court on a felonious assault (peace officer) charge on Aug. 28.

McBride is scheduled to appear again in the Miami County Common Pleas Court for a pretrial hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 9 a.m.
