CASSTOWN — The Miami East softball team is back in the Final Four for the first time since the first state tournament in 1978.

TROY — Troy Post 43 Legends, opened the 2022 season with a doubleheader split with Beavercreek Sox. Troy won the opener 14-4 and lost 5-0 in the nightcap.

The boys and girls state track and field meet will be held Friday and Saturday at Jesse Owens Stadium.

CENTERVILLE — Miami East softball seniors Kayly Fetters, Kylie Kirby, Braven Mills, Kenzie Noble and Kalli Teeters were well aware they had done something the Vikings hadn’t done since 1978 when they defeated Fredericktown 10-0 in five innings Saturday in a D-III regional semifinal at Centerville High School.

FAIRBORN — Bradford High School softball will defend their Division IV title at Firestone Stadium in Akron after knocking off Russia 3-1 Saturday at Wright State University.

HUBER HEIGHTS — Troy’s Sophie Fong and Leah Harnish did exactly what they were expected to do at Friday’s D-I regional track and field meet Friday night at Wayne High School.

PIQUA — Milton-Union junior Blake Brumbaugh will be making a return trip to the D-II boys state track and field meet.

PLEASANT HILL — In a matchup with the fourth-ranked D-II baseball team in Hamilton-Badin, you might think Tippecanoe would be at a disadvantage.

HUBER HEIGHTS — Troy junior pole vaulter Ethan Martin and senior long jumper Jack Kleinheinz had plenty to smile about on the opening night of the Division I regional meet at Wayne High School.

NEW CARLISLE — The Tippecanoe baseball team rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Kenton Ridge 11-1 in six innings Tuesday at Tecumseh High School.
