TROY — The third annual Mental Health and Community Resource Fair will take place on the Courthouse Plaza in downtown Troy on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The free event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend. The fair continues to grow as a resource relating to all essential components of life that can be found for any age. Approximately 60 agencies will be in attendance, and this year’s event has expanded to include employers.

New to this year’s fair are the Clothes That Work mobile unit and the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) mobile unit, both agencies help with employment, they can provide interview clothes and skills for interviewing and communicating with employers. From exercise to treatment, individuals can learn about a variety of resources, meet with the BMV, talk to employers, or even experience pet therapy. Food trucks will be available to purchase lunch.

“Even if you may not be in immediate need of a resource, we all know someone who is but does not know where to look. Finding the resource is often too overwhelming, resulting in no assistance at all. The Fair is one way of sharing and learning about the mountain of resources we have surrounding us that are here to be utilized,” said Judge Stacy M. Wall of the Miami County Common Pleas Court.

The Mental Health docket of the Miami County Common Pleas Court began in June 2022 and earned final certification from the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Specialized Dockets in June 2024. Wall created and presides over the Court, recognizing the need for individualized treatment in the efforts of rehabilitation. The court has a treatment team consisting of treatment providers, the Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, and assigned probation officers. The Court is overseen by an Advisory Team consisting of community partners.
