TROY — The Tippecanoe volleyball team got his second win with a 25-9, 25-14, 25-18 win over Troy Thursday at the Trojan Activity Center.

“We had a better start under a great atmosphere,” Tippecanoe coach Howard Garcia said. “But, it went out the window fast in our favor by holding Troy out of system most of the night. They had some good moments, but our ball control and quick counter attacking was persistent.

“I loved our effort on defense and how we set up the block. Our serving was aggressive, but had too many errors (11). Still getting into season shape, but like how we are handling ourselves.”

Savannah Clawson had eight kills and nine digs and Emily Aselage had eight kills and two blocks.

Faith Siefring had four aces and 15 digs, Jenna Krimm dished out 15 assists and Bri Morris added eight and Morgan Sessions and Lexi Luginbuhl had two blocks each.

Sidney 3,

Troy 0

SIDNEY — The Troy high school volleyball team dropped to 0-2 with a 25-23, 25-12, 17-25 loss to Sidney Tuesday.

Sophie Michalos had nine kills and Reagan Duff had six aces and two blocks.

Cema Rejab led the defense with 13 digs and Julia Kirner dished out 12 assists.

Tippecanoe 3,

Greenville 0

TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe volleyball team opened the season with a 25-20, 25-6, 25-14 win over Greenville Tuesday.

“It was a slow start in first set due to inconsistencies,” Tippecanoe coach Howard Garcia said. “But, after settling down, team took off with some outstanding blocking, consistent serve receive and lot of aggressive swings.

“I liked that the team adjusted and played under control and their passion. It was a good start to the season.”

Savannah Clawson had 14 kills, four aces and 11 digs and Emily Aselage had 11 kills and 13 digs.

Bri Morris dished out 13 assists and Jenna Krim added 10 assists.

Faith Siefring had 23 digs, Courtney Post had five blocks and Lexi Luginbuhl added three blocks.

Piqua 3,

Xenia 1

XENIA —The Piqua volleyball team went on the road for a 25-20, 21-25, 25-7, 25-18 win over Xenia.

Audrey Applegate had eight kills and 29 digs, Abigail Kirk had 16 digs, 17 assists and seven kills, Riley Baker had nine kills and Kaitlynn Sorrell had three blocks.

Brookville 3,

Covington 0

BROOKVILLE — The Covington volleyball team dropped a road match to Brookville 25-20, 25-8, 25-16 Tuesday.

Addison Ventura had three kills and two blocks, Taylor Kirker had seven assists, Mazelle Reck had three aces, Ramse Vanderhorst had nine digs and Hollan Koffer added two blocks.

TROY — The Troy Christian volleyball team won 27-25, 25-21, 25-23 at the Eagles Nest.

For Troy Christian, Myla Toney had nine kills, Maddie Foreman had seven kills and Jenna Borton added six kills and three blocks.

Taylor Bechtol had 23 assists and six aces, Olivia Sessions had 14 digs and Reign Wilkins had nine digs and three blocks.

Sienna Montgomery had 10 kills and five blocks for Newton and Ava Rapp had nine kills.

Makenna Kesling had 15 assists and four blocks and Aubrey Stetzel added eight assists.

Hannah Williams had 15 digs, Estie Rapp had 11 digs and Laila Avila had 10 digs.

Milton-Union 2

NEW LEBANON — The Milton-Union volleyball team dropped a road match 25-22, 21-25, 25-23, 26-28, 15-12.

Jenna Brumbaugh had 16 kills, six aces and 23 digs and Michaela Firks had 13 kills, 17 digs and 13 assists.

Mylee Jones had 20 assists, 16 digs and three aces and Sophie Layman had 19 digs and three aces.

Raylin Combs added 10 digs.
