Piqua Library’s upcoming events, closed Juneteenth

PIQUA – The Piqua Public Library, located at 116 W. High St., announces upcoming June events and closures.

On Thursday, June 20, the library is hosting Piqua Mayor Kris Lee, who will make a speech in the library’s lobby. Lee’s talk begins at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, and patrons of all ages are welcome to attend.

Then on Saturday, June 22, there is a Mayan Planetarium for children participating in the Summer Reading Club. The planetarium show will be at the Fort Piqua Plaza Banquet Center. There are four show times, but patrons may only attend one showing. The show times are 10, 10:30, 11 and 11:30 a.m. Tickets are required to attend and are free to pick up in the children’s department on the lower level of the library.

Brukner Nature Center is visiting the library with three of their wild friends on Monday and Friday, June 24 and 28, at 11 a.m. The Brukner Wildlife Nature Encounter is a children’s event for kids ages 6 to 12 years old who are registered for the Summer Reading Club.

For adults, the library is hosting a Tech Time program on Wednesday, June 26, from 2 to 3 p.m. Tech Time is a program aimed at increasing digital literacy among local seniors. The program is in the Louis Room near the first floor circulation desk.

The Piqua Public Library is closed for Juneteenth on Wednesday, June 19.
