Spirit Emergency Medical Services weekly log

Aug. 4-10

According to Brian K. Hathaway, Spirit EMS president/CEO, there were eight emergency medical dispatches for the week of Aug. 4-10, which was two more than the week prior.

Six of the calls originated in the Houston EMS district—covering Loramie and Washington Townships, as well as the village of Lockington, while excluding the village of Russia. Two of the calls originated while EMS crews were on standby at the Miami County Fairgrounds in Troy between Friday and Saturday.

Of the eight calls, five patients were transported to the hospital. Two patients refused transport after an evaluation by EMS crews. One call was cancelled after the EMS crew had marked en-route to the call.

Of the six calls in the Houston district last week, four of the responses were to the same address. All responses for the Houston district were coordinated from the Spirit EMS satellite station located at 5125 Russia-Houston Road in Houston.

Of the five patients transported, two were taken to Wilson Health in Sidney; two were transported to Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy; and one to Kettering Health Troy.

Spirit EMS responded to 100% of its dispatched calls.
