XENIA — The Piqua boys golf team picked up a 183-188 win over Xenia at WGC Monday.

Piqua scores weWillre Hunter Steinke 44, Lance Lawson 44, Aiden Applegate 47, Blake Walling 48, Evan Clark 49 and Ethan Cox 56.

Piqua was coming off a 174-254 win over West Carrollton.

Steinke led Piqua with a one-under par 35.

Other Piqua scores were Walling 44, Lawson 46, Clark 46, Applegate 50 and Gabe Sloan 61.

ARCANUM — The Newton boys golf team dropped a match Monday at Beechwood Golf Course.

Will Bowser led Newton with a 39.

David Kasimov had four goals and one assist and Phil Dix added two goals.

John Gulalieu and Izak Lyon had one goal and one assist each and Reynnald Rincon had one goal.

Jake Smith and Kason Etmans had one assist each.

Maddie Montgomery had four goals and two assists, Victoria Layton and Brooklyn Riviello had one goal and one assist each.

Kennedy Watkins had one goal, Juli Sprague had two assists and Brooklyn Saul had nine saves in goal.

TROY — The Troy girls tennis team dropped a match Monday.

In singles, Nina Short lost to Lily Braswell 6-4, 6-2; Calista Hicks lost to Tyler Burton 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 and Kimber Connors defeated Adevon Wilson 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

In doubles, Izzy Lutz and Maile Romberger lost to Daisy Carpenter and Ashley Weiss 6-4, 6-4 and Savannah Gibson and Allison Straughn defeated Mya Medley and Madi Evans 3-6, 6-0, 6-4.

GERMANTOWN — The Lehman Catholic girls tennis team dropped a road match Monday.

“We made the long road trip and played well against a solid team,” Lehman Catholic coach Tim Ungericht said. “Brooklyn (Fortkamp) played her best match of the year. It will be great for her confidence moving forward.”

In singles, Charlotte Spaide lost 6-3, 6-0 and Fortkamp lost 3-6, 6-3, 11-9.

In doubles, Eliza Westerheide and Kyla McGinnis lost 6-2, 7-5 and Dublin Cooper and Kali Pleasant lost 6-1, 6-3.

CLAYTON — The Piqua volleyball team lost to Northmont 25-18, 25-22, 25-17.

Natalie Hemmert had six kills and Kaitlynn Sorrell added five kills.

Abigail Kirk had 15 assists and 12 digs, Megan Hull had 12 digs and Riley Baker served two aces.
