PAINESVILLE — Tippecanoe junior Landon Kimmel is off and running after a fast start to the cross country season Saturday night.

Kimmel — who finished third in the D-I state cross country meet last year — won the Painesville Riverside night race in blazing 15:16.73 to lead Tipp to a sixth-place finish.

Other Tipp runners included Ethan Berning, 43, 16:50.46; Dimitri Hartman, 45, 16:51.48; Luke Schwieterman, 68, 17:10.74; Eli Ramos, 104, 17:48.16; Elias Stienecker, 130, 18:08.85 and Nathan Kollmeyer, 177, 18:44.03.

D-I-II race

Piqua’s Noah Burgh won the big school race at the Bob Schul Invitational Saturday.

He crossed the line in 16:02.9 to lead Piqua to a third-place finish as a team.

Rounding out the Piqua top seven were Brycen Angle, 12, 16:40.7; Braden Holtvogt, 19, 16:56.0; AJ Burroughs, 38, 17:41.5; Ty Pettus, 60, 18:09.1; Evam Clark, 71, 18:25.6 amd Harvin Bornhorst, 111, 19:21.4.

Troy finished 10th.

The Trojans top seven included Ryan McChesney, 23, 17:09.1; Chet Snyder, 43, 17:44.6; Noah Zink, 45, 17:50.2; Colin Waters, 77, 18:33.0; Zadok Reeves, 85, 18:41.0; Nate Reynolds, 86, 18:42.8 and Ryan Gillig, 91, 18:51.0.

Bethel finished 12th.

The Bees top seven included Kade Schweikhardt, 36, 17:33.5; Justin Brinson, 42, 17:44.3; Michael Trussel, 59, 18:10.6; Patrick Firstenberger, 60, 18:14.8; Cullen Firstenberger, 143, 20:07.3; Caleb Ratliff, 214, 21:50.4 and Caleb Wrobel, 221, 22:14.1.

D-II-III Race

Milton-Union finished seventh in the small school race Saturday.

The Bulldogs top seven included Colin Hinkeleman, 10, 16:54.4; Zak Klepinger, 33, 17:50.6; Andrew Oaks, 49, 18:07.7; Chase Parsons, 64, 18:30.3; Jacob Grube, 80, 18:46.3; Tyler Shoemaker, 141, 20:02.7 and Liam Hartley, 158, 21:29.4.

Newton finished ninth.

The Indians top seven included Seth Coker, 38, 17:56.5; Liam Woods, 60, 18:28.5; Tanner Long, 62, 18:29.2; Garrison Hughes, 69, 18:23.5; Dylan Bauer, 107, 19:16.1; Will Weber, 133, 19:12.8 and Eli Leingang, 174, 20:47.7.

Covington finished 12th.

The Buccs top seven included Beck Wilson, 16, 17:05.5; Chris Deaton, 45, 18:07.2; Calub Hembree, 110, 19:21.5; Preston King, 111, 19:25.1; Henry Skaggs, 145, 20:07.8; Landen Reynolds, 151, 20:22.2 and Noah Chaney, 214, 21:46.0.

Bradford finished 27th.

Railroader runners included Kyree Roberts, 232, 22:04.2; Brendan Hansen, 235, 22:07.7; Stephen Stewart, 258, 22:54.8; Eli Hoffman, 271, 23:17.9; Zeb Lavey, 287, 24:05.8 and Lucas Nicholson, 303, 26:18.5.

Troy Christian runners included Landon Patel, 50, 18:10.0; Steven Edmonds, 108, 19:16.2; Rhett Baldwin, 173, 20:46.7 and Henry Rupnik, 219, 21:49.6.

Northmont Invitational

CLAYTON — The Tippecanoe boys finished fifth at the Northmont Invitational.

Tipp’s top seven included Everett Muhlenkamp, 2, 16:41.2; Sam Stark, 20, 18:12.0; Will Hept, 21, 18:17.3; Ben Pierson, 26, 18:25.4; Mason Kinninger, 32, 18:46.7; Noah Heisey, 33, 18:46.7 and Connor DeMange, 41, 19:05.6.

Northwestern Invitational

The Miami East boys finished third at the Northwestern Invitational.

The Vikings top seven included Gunner Weldy, 12, 17:50.6; Johnathan Hedrick, 23, 18:31.3; Landon Moran, 33, 18:54.7; Reese Gipe, 45, 19:18.5; Coleton Moore, 65, 20:25.1; Corbin Farrier, 67, 20:25.9 and Tai McAdams, 81, 21:10.0.

Celina Invitational

Lehman Catholic finished third in the white race.

The Cavaliers top seven included Brian Baumann, 5, 16:08.8; Ethan Taylor, 8, 16:59.5; Alex Goubeaux, 11, 19:12.0; Thaddeus Bezy, 17, 19:44.6; Leopold Schmiesing, 34, 21:57.5; Ben O’Leary, 70, 27:39.1 and Landon Swan, 74, 30:53.3.
