COLUMBUS– The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Ohio’s leading small business advocacy organization, presented State Senator Steve Huffman with the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award in Tipp City Tuesday morning.

Steve Bruns, NFIB member and small business owner of Bruns General Contracting, presented the award to Huffman at Bruns General Contracting, located in Tipp City on Tipp-Cowlesville Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

“Senator Steve Huffman is a proven leader for small businesses in the Ohio Legislature,” said Chris Ferruso, NFIB Ohio State Director. “He earned a perfect NFIB voting record, is the lead sponsor for legislation to eliminate Ohio’s income tax, and is the leading caucus voice against health insurance mandates. We are proud to name Senator Huffman a Guardian of Small Business and know he will continue to prioritize small businesses in Columbus.”

“It was a pleasure to recognize Senator Huffman today as a strong supporter of our state’s small businesses,” said Bruns. “He has been a staunch advocate for creating a better economy by lowering taxes and reducing regulations and I know he will continue to do great work for Ohio’s Main Street.”

According to a press release, NFIB’s Guardian of Small Business Award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB awards to elected officials in recognition of their efforts to support small businesses. Huffman earned a perfect NFIB Voting Record in the Ohio Legislature and was a leader on key small business issues like income tax, business grants, and health insurance.
