Miami County experiencing a drought

The Great Miami River continues to dry up in Piqua and other areas as the drought worsens in Miami County. According to drought.gov, a government page made available by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS), 69.17 percent of Miami County is in a severe drought and 30.83 percent is under a moderate drought. 100 percent of Miami County is currently experiencing drought conditions, which is affecting not only the river levels, but crops and grass as well. There is no appreciable rainfall in the foreseeable future.
