Consider your wants and needs

You may want to create a Needs” list and a “Wants” list. This will help you focus on the things that are most important in your future home. Give this some real consideration.

Needs might be enough bedrooms for your family, first floor main bedroom, close proximity to work or schools or a yard for your children or pets

Wants might be a fenced-in back yard, carpet or hardwood flooring, or a walk-in shower or double vanity in the bath.

This will help you think about what you have to have and what things would be nice, but not necessary. Needs are things that are the mostly non-negotiable. Wants are the ones you’d like to have, but you can add or change down the road. Unfortunately you cannot change the lot or the location.

Sit down and give it some thought and when you’re ready, call your trusted local agent to guide you through the process.
