WEST CARROLLTON — The Troy football team evened its record with a 48-7 romp over West Carrollton Friday night.

Troy, 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the MVL, will host unbeaten Tippecanoe Friday night.

Kayden Franklin had a big game for the Trojans, scoring four touchdowns.

He had 10 carries for 131 yards and two touchdowns and caught two passes for 69 yards, with both going for touchdowns.

Aidan Gorman caught a 65-yard touchdown pass as Aiden Kirkpatrick was 3-for-3 passing for 134 yards, with all three passes going for touchdowns.

Grant Zimmerman had three carries for 82 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown run and Asher Merritt had a 12-yard TD run.

Cameron Stoltz converted six of seven PAT kicks.

Gorman, Braden Boyer and Luke Brogan all had interceptions for Troy,

Covington 45,

Troy Christian 0

TROY — The Covington football team rolled to an easy in Friday night in its TRC opener.

Covington is 3-1 overall and host Bethel Friday night. Troy Christian is 0-4 overall and will play at Milton-Union Friday night.

Covington quarterback Landin Cassel was 8-for-20 passing for 109 yards and two touchdowns.

Day’Lynn Garrett caught six passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns.

Jordan Miller led the rushing attack, with 94 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. He also returned an interception 80 yards for a touchdown.

Cassel had 10 carries for 89 yards and Christian Clark had five carries for 50 yards and one touchdown.

Cassel ran for a two-point conversion and Wyatt Parker kicked a 30-yard field goal and was 5-for-6 on PATs.

Parker Hoying and Filip McMaken also intercepted passes.

Lehman Catholic 35,

Milton-Union 27

WEST MILTON — The Lehman Catholic football team opened TRC play with a win.

The Cavaliers, 3-1 overall will host Miami East Thursday night at Sidney Memorial Stadium/30&0 Field.

Milton-Union, 1-3, will host Troy Christian Friday night.

Lehman rallied from an early 14-0 deficit.

Evan O’Leary got the Cavaliers on the board with a 74-yard kickoff return and Benton Verrill caught TD passes of 52 and 20 yards from Lachey. Daniel Carlisle kicked a PAT and O’Leary ran for a two-point conversion to tie the game at 21.

Lachey threw a 23-yard TD pass to Da’Ron Pride and Lachey ran for a 56-yard TD. O’Leary caught a pass from Lachey for a two-point conversion to make it 35-21 and the Cavaliers held on for the win.

For Lehman, Lachey was 15 of 25 passing for 280 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

O’Leary led the receivers with seven catches for 128 yards and Verrill had three catches for 85 yards.

Lachey led the rushing attackk with 72 yards on 11 carries.

Devin Pride and Dillon Schmiesing forced fumbles with Pride and O’Leary recovering fumbles.

For Milton-Union, Wyatt Kimmel completed 20 of 33 passes for 340 yards, including a 52-yard TD pass to Payton Mayfield. Mayfield had scored earlier on a 6-yard run to put Milton up 14-0 after two Chase Hamann kicks.

Seth Lowry had a 5-yard TD run with Hamann making the kick and Mayfield added a four-yard TD run to make the final margin 35-27.

Mayfield had eight catches for 152 yards and eight carries for 62 yards.

Charlie Lane had four catches for 89 yards and Karson Stone had five catches for 48 yards.

Seth Lowry led the rushing attack with 21 carries for 107 yards.

Mayfield recovered a fumble, intercepted a pass and led the Bulldogs with eight tackles.

Northridge 28,

Miami East 10

CASSTOWN — The Miami East football team dropped its TRC opener Friday night.

The Vikings, 3-1, will play at Lehman Catholic Thursday night.

KJ Gustin was 18 for 38 passing for Miami East for 170 yards.

Kaden Francis caught eight passes for 101 yards.

Aaron Mills had 85 yards rushing on 18 carries and scored the Miami East touchdown.

Caleb Staley kicked the PAT and added a 25-yard field goal.

Luke Bowsher had 14 tackles, Evan Maxson had 11 tackles and Chris Smith was credited with eight tackles.

Riverside 20,

Bethel 13

DEGRAFF — The Bethel football team lost its TRC opener Friday night.

The Bees, 1-3, will play at Covington Friday night.

Cooper Mears completed nine of 18 passes for Bethel for 83 yards and Landen Cornwell caught three passes for 40 yards.

Cornwell had 11 carries for 60 yards and Mears had 45 yards rushing on 12 carries — including a one-yard TD run.

Logan Newell kicked the PAT and had field goals of 31 and 35 yards.

Remi Brannan led the defense with 14 tackles and Carson Vest and Anvar Tashtanov had seven tackles each.

National Trail 47,

Bradford 7

NEW PARIS — The Bradford football team lost a WOAC game Friday night.

The Railroaders, 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the WOAC, will play at Preble Shawnee Friday night.

Griffin Trevino caught a 45-yard TD pass from Owen Canan for the Bradford score and Raiden Wombold kicked the PAT.

Canan completed eight of 18 passes for 164 yards, with one touchdown and one interception.

Trevino had four catches for 79 yards and Rallie Wirrig had three catches for 46 yards.

Canan led the rushing attack with 44 yards on seven carries.

Trevino led the defense with 11 tackles and Canan had 10 tackles.
