SIDNEY — Lehman Catholics’ Henry Petersen and Jack Williams both advanced to the D-III district golf tournament at the Sidney D-III sectional Tuesday.

Petersen shot 76 and Williams shot 78 to advance as individuals. Williams won a playoff for the final spot.

Lehman finished fifth as a team with a 335 total.

Other Cavalier scores were Shane Frantz 89, Matthew Adams 92 and Braden Ulbrich 97.

Troy Christian finished eighth with a 364 total.

Eagle scores included Connor Tipton 86, Gabe Barhorst 88, Connor George 93, James Walters 97 and Trevor Phillips 105.

PIQUA — The Covington boys golf team shot its lowest score of the season Tuesday at Echo Hills in a win over Piqua.

Covington’s Matt Dieperink, Brodie Manson and Jayden Wackler all shared medalist honors with 39.

Caleb Smith had 43, Brairen Denson carded a 45 and Caden Hollingsworth added a 47.

Piqua scores were Hunter Steinke 41, Lance Lawson 41, Evan Clark 42, Gabe Sloan 43, Aiden Applegate 44 and Blake Walling 47.

TIPP CITY — The Milton-Union boys golf team got a win over Newton Tuesday.

Austin Hodkin was medalist with a 40 for the Bulldogs.

Other Milton-Union scorers were Keaton Jones 43, Hunter Fraley 43, William Coate 44 and Brian Wooddell 44.

Newton scorers were Ridge Gray 42, Rhett Koffer 44, Will Bowser 45 and Alec Schaurer 48.

DAYTON — The Troy boys soccer team topped Stebbins Tuesday night in MVL action.

Brayden Dillow had four goals, while Caden Francis, Carson Furrow, Colten Hermann, Kevin Hipolito, Owen Liening and Samuel Maitlen all scored one goal each.

Joshua Murphy had three assists and Nathan Miller added two assists.

Zachary Bridge, Aiden Hickernell, Jackson Hickernell, Alexander McAdams and Dylan Unger had one assist each.

Lucas Hickernell had three saves in goal.

TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe boys soccer team cruised to a MVL win Tuesday.

Maddox Robinson had two goals, Landon Haas had one goal and two assists and Dominic Mendiola, James Miller and Cameron Smith had one goal and one assist each.

AJ Jergens and Colin Turner had one goal each and Collin Snyder and Beckett Trzciak had one assist each.

Jace Sawyer had one save in goal.

In singles, Nina Short defeated Ava Owen 6-1, 6-0; Calista Hicks defeated Bri Anderson 6-0, 6-4 and Kimber Connors defeated Bekah Cantrell 6-3, 6-0.

In doubles, Izzy Lutz and Maile Romberger defeated Kaitlyn Szachta and Laney Honeycutt 6-0, 6-0 and Savannah Gbson and Allison Straughn defeated Lily Pierron and Anna Rudy 6-3, 6-4.

SIDNEY — The Lehman Catholic girls tennis team dropped a home match Tuesday.

“It was Senior Night for us tonight,” Lehman coach Tim Ungericht said. “We celebrated out two seniors, Evelyn Johnston and Eliza Westerheide.

“Charlotte (Spaide) played a returning state qualifier, one of the best players I have seen all season.”

In singles, Spaide lost 6-0, 6-0; Brooklyn Fortkamp lost 6-0, 6-0 and Lehman forfeited third singles.

In doubles, Westerheide and Kyla McGinnis lost 6-4, 6-2 and Dublin Cooper and Kali Pleasant lost 6-1, 6-1.

TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe volleyball team remained undefeated with a 25-13, 25-7, 25-13 win Tuesday.

“Took control of the match from the start and never looked back,” Tippecanoe coach Howard Garcia said. “We continued to play good defense which allowed us to counter attack.

“We spent a lot of time in system and the setting choices were outstanding.”

Abby Mader pounded nine kills and Savannah Clawson added six kills and eight digs.

Livia Hiser had five kills and Jenna Krimm and Bri Morris each dished out 12 assists.

Faith Siefring had 15 digs, Emily Aselage added nine digs and Lexi Luginbuhl had three blocks.

PIQUA — The Piqua volleyball team got a 25-23, 25-21, 25-20 win in MVL action Tuesday at Garbry Gymnasium.

Megan Hull had eight kills and 19 digs, Riley Baker had seven kills and 13 digs, Kaitlyn Sorrell had seven kills and Ella Snyder added five kills.

Abigail Kirk had 23 assists and 17 digs, Campbell O’Neal had nine assists, Audrey Applegate had 14 digs and Natalie Hemmert served three aces.

Sienna Montgomery had 24 kills and served five aces, Estie Rapp had nine kills and 10 digs and Ava Rapp had eight kills and 17 digs.

Makenna Kesling had 24 assists and 10 digs, Aubrey Stiefel had 14 assists and three aces and Hannah Williams had 13 digs and three aces.

BRADFORD — The Bradford volleyball team lost to Franklin Monroe 25-17, 25-11, 25-21 Tuesday.

Addysen Mills had six kills and eight digs, Megan Wood had four kills and Chloe Hocker dished out 15 assists.
