TROY — Welcome fall with a celebration of Miami County’s agricultural heritage at the 15th annual Fall Farm Fest, hosted by the Miami County Park District on Oct. 12 and 13 from noon to 5 p.m., said a press release from Miami County Park District.

This two-day festival, held at the picturesque 456-acre Lost Creek Reserve, 2385 E. State Route 41, will transform the historic Knoop Homestead into a bustling hub of activity.

“This event is a tribute to the agricultural traditions that shaped Miami County,” said J. Scott Myers, executive director of the Miami County Park District. “We aim to provide families with a fun, educational, and memorable experience.”

The festival features a wide array of activities for visitors of all ages. Guests can explore a six-acre corn maze, try their hand at the corn cannon, enjoy local music and food, and take part in wagon rides, children’s games, and various farm-themed demonstrations like apple cidering and rope making. Other highlights include farm animal exhibits, vendor booths, and the beloved kiddie tractor pull, where kids compete for trophies.

A unique feature of the festival is the wagon ride down a scenic farm lane lined with scarecrows. Visitors can vote for their favorite scarecrows in three out of four contest categories. For those seeking adventure, the corn maze offers a fun challenge with its many twists and turns.

“The festival also offers plenty of traditional children’s activities,” said Mindy Weaver, outreach coordinator for the Miami County Park District. “Kids will love the fairy/gnome house search, horse demonstrations, old-fashioned games, pony rides, and rope-making demonstrations.”

One of the must-see attractions is the farm animal petting zoo, located in the historic 1832 bank barn. Visitors can also witness teams of oxen in action and explore the “back forty” for horse demonstrations.

On Sunday, a special Children’s Homestead will be set up with interactive activities for younger visitors. Adding to the festive atmosphere, live musical performances by the pond will feature local and regional talent, with genres ranging from bluegrass and folk to soft rock.

“The music enhances the festival’s ambiance and creates a relaxing, enjoyable experience for attendees,” said Myers.

With its rich blend of history, nature, and family-friendly fun, Fall Farm Fest at Lost Creek Reserve is the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of fall.

Admission and most activities are free; fees charged are for food and merchandise, pony rides, face painting, the corn shooter, corn maze, and to purchase pumpkins and mums.
