Tipp City voters to consider charter amendments

TIPP CITY — Residents of Tipp City will have the opportunity to vote on several proposed city charter amendments in the upcoming general election on Nov 5.

Listed below is the language that will appear on the ballot for the following five proposed charter amendments for Tipp City:

• Shall section 4.14 (Ordinances and resolutions procedures) of the Charter of Tipp City be amended as follows: All persons attending a council meeting have an opportunity to be heard, but the Council president may limit the amount of time they may speak on an agenda item as provided for in the Rules of Council?

• Shall section 5.01 (Appointment; Qualification; Compensation) of the Charter of Tipp City be amended as follows: The City Manager agrees to maintain permanent residency in Miami County, Ohio, or a county directly bordering Miami County at all times during their employment?

• Shall section 8.01 (Planning Board) of the Charter of Tipp City be amended as follows: To eliminate the following language: No member shall serve more than four consecutive, either full or partial terms?

• Shall section 8.04 (Board of Appeals) of the Charter of Tipp City be amended as follows: To eliminate the following language: No member shall serve more than four consecutive, either full or partial terms?

• Shall section 8.05 (Restoration and Architectural Board of Review) of the Charter of Tipp City be amended as follows: To revise the number of members from five to seven, add that members shall have some knowledge of historic preservation or be a property owner within the historic district, and eliminate the following language: membership of the Board should include, but not be limited to, building contractors, architects, owners of businesses within the district, residential property owners within the district, and persons demonstrating skills or interests which Council deems appropriate. No member shall serve more than four consecutive, either full or partial terms?
