Milton-Union sweeps TRC cross country; MU’s Hinkleman wins boys race, Covington’s Long wins girls race

COVINGTON — The Milton-Union boys and girls cross country teams swept the TRC meet Saturday.

BOYS

Colin Hinkelman led Milton-Union to victory, winning in 16:17.0.

Rounding out the Bulldogs top seven were Zak Klepinger, 2, 16:48.8; Andrew Oaks, 11, 17:50.2; Jacob Grube, 15, 17:58.2; Riley Kent, 20, 18:31.8; Case Parsons, 22, 18:34.3 and Tyler Shoemaker, 26, 18:41.0.

Bethel finished second.

The Bees top seven included Justin Brinson, 16:58.5; Kade Schweikhardt, 6, 17:05.5; Patrick Firstenberger, 7, 17:10.6; Michael Trussel, 13, 17:55.1; Collen Firstenberger, 27, 18:50.8; Caleb Ratliff, 33, 19:13.8 and Caleb Wrobel, 43, 21:13.9.

Lehman Catholic finished third.

The Cavaliers top seven included Brian Baumann, 8, 17:17.3; Luke Dexter, 10, 17:38.6; Alex Goubeaux, 16, 17:58.1; Ethan Taylor, 21, 18:32.5; Leopold Schmiesing, 30, 19:03.6 and Chris Galbreath, 39, 20:35.0.

Miami East finished fourth.

The Vikings top seven included Johnathan Hedrick, 3, 16:52.0; Gunner Weldy, 9, 17:24.0; Landon Moran, 12, 17:53.7; Corbin Farrier, 24, 18:39.4; Coleton Moore, 32, 19:10.5; Tai McAdams, 35, 19:43.7 and Reese Gipe, 37, 19:50.3.

Covington finished fifth.

The Buccs top seven included Beck Wilson, 4, 16:58.5; Chris Deaton, 14, 17:55.6; Calub Hembree, 19, 18:17.4; Preston King, 23, 18:38.4; Kent Welborn, 28, 18:53.9; Zaiden Maroney, 29, 19:03.1 and Noah Chaney, 31, 19:04.4.

Troy Christian runners included Landon Patel, 18, 18:04.9; Steven Edmonds, 25, 18:39.5; Henry Runik, 38, 20:34.5 and Rhett Baldwin, 45, 21:38.9.

GIRLS

Covington’s Elyza Long won the girls race in 19:10.3, Bethel’s Olivia Brumbaugh was second in 19:49.0 and Aubree Bates led Milton-Union to the team title with a third-place finish in 20:04.1.

The remaining Bulldog runners included Madalyn Korte, 6, 20:57.3; Amelia Iddings, 12, 21:53.7; Sydnie Bartlett, 16, 22:18.5; Alaina Manning, 18, 22:35.5; Jessa Lightner, 24, 24:05.6 and Lola Taylor, 36, 26:10.1.

Miami East finished second.

The Vikings top seven included Tessa Kress, 8, 21:02.1; Addy Fine, 14, 21:56.5; Grace Shively, 15, 22:02.5; Teaghan Kress, 19, 23:06.0; Isabella Bobillo, 20, 23:19.5; Savannah Pellman, 21, 23:20.4 and Keara Stace, 22, 23:29.1.

Bethel finished third.

Along with Brumbaugh, Bethel’s top seven included Alyssandra Periano, 5, 20:38.0; Natalie Sonnanstine, 7, 20:58.5; Taylor Kaeff, 29, 25:10.1; Evelyn Adams, 30, 25:39.6; Emma Berberich, 40, 28:18.0 and Keira Mallett, 43, 29:47.3.

The Cavaliers top seven included Margaret Schmiesing, 9, 21:12.4; Anna Minneci, 10, 21:13.7; Ava Reineke 11, 21:38.3; Rosemarie Schmiesing, 27, 24:22.4; Julia Gudorf, 28, 24:59.4; Holly Canavan, 30, 25:18.2 and Zippy Bezy, 31, 25:18.2.

Covington finished fifth.

Along with Long, Covington runners included Kassidy Turner, 13, 21:55.7; Bella Welch, 23, 24:03.4; Willow Pellman, 26, 24:14.2 and Serenity Weaver, 39, 27:59.7.

Troy Christian finished sixth.

Eagle runners included Elisabeth Waltz, 4, 20:12.9; Joy Myers, 17, 22:26.9; Lila Echemann, 25, 24:11.8; Annaliese Erdahl, 33, 25:34.0 and Norah Rocke, 41, 28:27.8.
