Jay Hall returns as the Bradford boys basketball coach.

The returning letterwinners include 6-3 junior Parker Davidson, 6-0 junior Landon Monnin, 6-3 sophomore Tucker Miller, 6-3 sophomore Landon Wills and 6-0 sophomore Hudson Hill.

Davidson averaged 18.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists a year ago.

“We are still moving pieces around scheme wise,’ Hall said about the Railroaders offense and defense. “It is too early to tell how the dust will settle on what type of identity we take on.”

Bradford is moving into the Western Ohio Athletic Conference.

”Tri-Village, Preble Shawnee, Arcanum could be in a class above the rest,’Hall said. “Right behind them, maybe Newton, Dixie and FM. Newton has a lot of underestimated individual talent.

“FM is always disciplined and well coached. Dixie has some nice pieces. With all the new coaches in the conference, you never know how some teams may change. I expect some surprises as we go over the next four months.”

NEWTON

Gavin Spitler returns as coach.

The Indians return 5-9 senior Chandler Peters, 6-0 senior Quentin Smith, 5-10 junior Hudson Montgomery and 6-3 junior Harold Oburn off last year’s 11-12 team.

Peters is an explosive scorer and will lead the Indians at the guard position with Smith and Montgomery.

Oburn will be joined in the post by 6-1 senior Clark Yoder and Grant Deeter.

The Indians will run a motion offense and mix it up between man and zone on defense.
