Road to close for bridge replacement

MIAMI COUNTY — Loy Road Road will be closed between Casstown-Sidney Road and State Route 589 starting on Jan. 31 through March 25 for a bridge replacement.

PERI Miami County Chapter Meeting set

TROY — PERI Miami County Chapter will meet 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 2, in the Troy-Miami County Public Library Multi-Purpose Room. Enter from library parking lot. Program will feature a “Latest Senior Scams” presentation by a Consumer Educator from the Ohio Attorney General’s office.

Meeting is open to retired public employees and public employees considering retirement. If you plan to attend, please call Beth (937-335-2771) before midnight, Tuesday, Feb. 1. Seating will follow Covid-safe guidelines.

Bring Your Own Device program offered

WEST MILTON — The Milton-Union Public Library is offering a “Bring Your Own Device” program. The program hopes to create technology users who are able to fully participate in online government, search and apply for jobs online, and utilize digital resources for financial, social, historical, and informational needs, with an understanding of their digital footprint and how to protect their personal information. Patrons with questions about Overdrive, Hoopla or their device can stop by the library to have questions answered, or schedule a phone consultation. TMCS offering music class

TIPP CITY — Tipp Monroe Community Services is offering a new class for caregivers and children (infant to pre k) called Music Makers. The 5-week class begins on Feb. 7 from 10-10:45 a.m. at the TMCS building located at 3 E. Main Street in Tipp City. The cost to participate is $60 for Tipp City residents and $62 for non-residents.

This course is based on the research of children’s movement and musical development by Dr. John Feierabend, music educator and professor at the University of Hartford. This approach strives for all people to become tuneful, beautiful, and artful through developmentally appropriate pedagogy and quality literature. These classes are a fun and active music making experience for the adult and the child.
