TROY – On Thursday, Feb. 17, the Miami County Commissioners, excluding Commissioner President Ted Mercer, met to authorize several resolutions.
The first resolution authorized the Operations and Facilities manager to purchase a John Deere 1575 47-inch HD two-stage snow blower attachment, including mounting hardware and a TerrainCut Drop Spreader, from Koenig Equipment for a cost of $9,166.05.
The next resolution authorized the Operations and Facilities manager to purchase a John Deere 636M Commercial QuikTrak machine with a 36-inch, 7-gauge floating deck from Koenig Equipment for a cost of $7,618.72.
Then, the commissioners accepted the resignation of Melinda Bashore from her position as telecommunicator from the Miami County Communication Center. Therefore, the next resolution was to authorize the listing of a full-time telecommunicator position with the Miami County Communication Center for a pay rate of $20.14.
Then, the commissioners approved the fourth release of payment for an escrow agreement with North Branch Land Company, LLC for the construction of North Branch Pass Subdivision, Phase 2. The payment was $127,367.50 which leaves a balance of $341,330.65 in the escrow agreement.
The next resolution, which was approved, was for the services provided by R.T. Industries, Inc. to collect recyclables during events held within Miami County for the 2022 year. The cost shall not exceed $10,000 for the year.
Then, the following resolution involved authorization for contract negotiations with Access Engineering Solutions LLC for the Swailes Road Waterline Loop Project. The Swailes Road Waterline Loop Project involves installing approximately 1,997 linear feet of 8” C-909 water main along Swailes Road to create a looped system in Miami County Sanitary’s Camp Troy Water Distribution System.
Then, the commissioners approved a memorandum agreement between the Miami County Commissioners, Miami County Municipal Court, and TCN Behavioral Health Services to provide the Municipal Court with drug and alcohol outpatient services for high-risk and moderate risk offenders. The cost of these services shall not exceed $30,000 for the year agreement.
The next resolution the commissioners approved was the Storm Water Management Program, which was proposed by Kreig Smail, Miami Soil and Water Conservation District. According to Ohio Law, Miami County has to submit a Storm Water Management Program for the period of April 2021 to March 2026. The purpose of the Storm Water Management Program is to “stipulate programmatic goals and initiatives to be undertaken by Miami County and the three regulated townships (co-permittees) of Bethel, Concord, and Monroe to comply with the County’s NPDES Permit,” according to the agenda.
The next resolution involved transferring a liquor license from H & C Gobind LLC to K and D Satsahib LLC, which was not opposed by the Sheriff’s Office.
Then, the commissioners approved the board reappointment of Jordan Hodges to the Child Abuse and Child Neglect Regional Prevention Council as a representative of Miami County.
The next resolution was to approve the annexation of approximately 25.3483 acres from Concord Township to the city of Troy. Concord Township did not submit an ordinance or resolution to object or consent to the annexation within the 25-day time period, which under law, constitutes consent to the annexation.
The last resolution was to approve the annexation of approximately 2.2881 acres from Monroe Township to the city of Tipp City. The Monroe Township Board of Trustees and the land owner entered into an Annexation Agreement for this annexation.
Following the public general session, the Miami County Commissioners entered into an executive session to discuss a personnel issue which resulted in the acceptance of resignation/termination of employment from an employee within Miami County Job and Family Services.
