Shop small businesses on Pink Friday, Nov. 18

TIPP CITY — Downtown Tipp City businesses are going pink on Friday, Nov. 18, for a third annual nationwide small business shopping experience called Pink Friday.

Pink Friday is a small business spin on the traditional Black Friday shopping experience, reminding people to #ShopSmallFirst. Black Friday is the largest shopping day of the year, but the sales and promotions from big box stores often overshadow the experiences that small businesses are focused on providing. The goal on Nov. 18 is to celebrate the businesses that are the backbone of our local communities.

“Our downtown business owners invest in our community each and every day, both economically and culturally,” says Nicolette Winner, owner of Unboxed Boutique. “Small businesses focus on relationship-building, providing personalized service and offering niche products to meet unique customer needs. Pink Friday reminds shoppers to think big by shopping small before they hit the traditional big box stores.”

Participating Tipp City businesses include Browse Awhile Books, Fox & Feather Trading Company, Serendipity Paper Co., Topsy Turvy Toys, Unboxed Boutique and Yellow Hammer Clothing and Home. Take 10% off all purchases when you wear pink at Browse Awhile Books, Serendipity Paper Co., Topsy Turvy Toys and Unboxed Boutique. Additionally, Unboxed Boutique will offer mystery bags, a stocking stuffer bar, doorbuster deals on hats and a pink raffle prize basket. Both Fox & Feather Trading Company and Yellow Hammer Clothing and Home will give customers a free gift with any $25 purchase and customers will earn $10 for every $50 spent in Fox Bucks or Bird Bucks to use in store Dec. 1 through 22.

“Pink Friday was created by The Boutique Hub to shine a spotlight on small businesses and encourage everyone to shop consciously during the holiday season,” says Ashley Alderson, founder and CEO of The Boutique Hub. “There has never been a more important time than now to shop small first. Small businesses make a big impact in America’s communities, and it’s important that we support them as much as possible.”
