PIQUA — The third concert of the benefit video concert series hosted by the Piqua Arts Council will be offered at 7 p.m. Friday, May 14, with The Kid & The Riff Raff.

Miami East FFA members Ethan Paulus, Mathew Osting, Kyle Vernon, Dustin Winter and Ethan Fine load tires into a semi at the Miami County Fairgrounds on Wednesday morning as part of the annual Miami Soil & Water Conservation District tire recycling program. A total of 18 FFA members from Miami East worked the event. Linda Raterman from the Miami Conservancy District said that they collected around 1,700 tires, the largest amount ever. A grant from the Miami County Foundation helped to make the event possible.

COVINGTON — Ryan Rohr of the Covington-UVCC FFA Chapter placed first in the state in the area of Agricultural Communications as an individual. The Agricultural Communications CDE prepares students for careers in journalism, radio and television broadcast, web design, marketing and more. The team placed third in the state with members; Allison Gostomsky, Derrick Meyer and Michael Hagan were the final starters and other team members included Tori Quinter, Gavin Swank and Megan Rose. This is the first state CDE banner won by the Covington-UVCC FFA chapter.

THS to stage ‘Peanuts’ musical

On today’s date, the reporting party called to report suspicious activity during the overnight hours. She stated she was advised by a family member that someone had tried to break into her car. She continued on to stated nothing was stolen however she requested extra checks. The only description she was told was a white male in a red pickup truck, unknown make or model. A message was sent out to the rest of the agency. The reporting party stated she did not want a report filed. Information from Miami County Sheriff’s Office reports
