TROY — Along with national and state races on the Nov. 5 ballot there is one local contested race and numerous uncontested races in Miami County voters will see in the 2024 general election.
Running for president of the United States includes Richard Duncan and Mitchell Preston Bupp (nonparty); Kamala D. Harris and Timothy J. Walz (D); Chase Oliver and Mike Ter Maat (Lib); Peter Sonski and Lauren Onak (other party); Jill Stein and Anita Rios (other party); Donald J. Trump and JD Vance (R). Certified write-in candidates for president are Shiva Ayyadurai and Crystal Ellis; John Cheng and Wayne Waligorski; Claudia De La Cruz and Karina Garcia; Cherunda Fox and Harlan Mcvay Jr.; and Brian Kienitz and Christina Johnston.
Running for the United States Senate are Sherrod Brown (D), Don Kissick (Lib) and Bernie Moreno (R). Certified write-in candidates for U.S. Senate includes Stephen Faris, David Allen Pastorius, Nathan Russell and Tariq Shabazz.
Running for the United States Congress, 8th district, are Warren Davidson (R) and Vanessa Enoch. Running for the United States Congress, 15th district, are Mike Carey (R) and Adam Miller (D).
In statewide races:
Running for justice of the Ohio Supreme Court for the unexpired term ending Dec. 31, 2032, are Lisa Forbes (D) and Daniel R. Hawkins (R); candidates who running for a seat for the unexpired term commencing Jan.1, 2025, are Michael P. Donnelly (D) and Megan E. Shanahan (R); running for a seat for the unexpired term commencing Jan.1, 2025, are Joseph T. Deters (R) and Melody J. Stewart (D).
Running for judge of the 2nd District Court of Appeals is Robert Hanseman (R).
Running for the Ohio State Representative seat are Johnathan Newman (R) and Melissa VanDyke (D).
Local candidates who will appear on the ballot are all unopposed, with the exception of the county recorder race. Those uncontested candidates include:
County commisssioner, 2 open seats: Gregory Simmons (R) and Wade H. WestfalL (R).
Prosecuting attorney: Paul M. Watkins (R).
Clerk of courts: Shawn M. Peeples (R).
Sheriff: Dave Duchak (R).
County recorder, write-in candidates: David E. Norman and Samuel J. Pierce.
County engineer: Paul P. Huelskamp (R).
County coroner: William N. Ginn (R).
County treasurer: Jim Stubbs (R).
Judge of the Court of Common Pleas: Stacy M. Wall.
