TROY — Choosing the right Medicare plan can be tricky, but Health Partners Free Clinic can lend you a hand in making important decisions when it comes to enrolling in this beneficial program.

Through a partnership with the Ohio Department of Insurance, Health Partners Free Clinic provides older adults with free, objective information about health insurance offerings available through Medicare. The clinic has an Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP) navigator on staff who can counsel Medicare beneficiaries one-on-one.

Your OSHIIP navigator can take away the stress and worry that may come with selecting a Medicare plan. She will provide individual guidance on how to select the plan that best fits your needs and personal budget, and this service is provided completely free of charge. To secure an appointment with your OSHIIP navigator, call 937-332-0894, ext. 213. The OSHIIP navigator is in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but voicemails may be left at any time outside those normal business hours.

Medicare’s open enrollment period runs from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7, with all plan changes going into effect on Jan. 1. The open enrollment period offers beneficiaries the opportunity to make plan changes and adjustments. New enrollees may also utilize this service year-long when it is time for them to sign up for Medicare.

Health Partners Free Clinic provides high-quality health care for the uninsured and under served residents of Miami County and beyond. All services provided by the clinic, including medications, are available free of charge. The organization has served the community for 25 years.
