TIPP CITY — The showdown is set.

Tippecanoe and Xenia will bring matching 9-0 records overall and 8-0 in the MVL when they play for the MVL title Friday night at Xenia to close the regular season.

Tipp opened a 44-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 51-0 victory over Stebbins Friday night.

Larkin Thomas completed 13 of 19 passes for 247 yards and five touchdowns, with one interception.

Jackson Davis had a big night receiving with seven catches for 174 yards and four touchdowns. Cade Havill caught a 20-yard TD pass.

Xavier Melton had 67 yards rushing on nine carries and Logan Butera had eight carries for 46 yards and a touchdown.

Owen Baileys was 6-for-7 on PATs and kicked a 23-yard field goal.

Chris Preece and Christian Couch had interceptions and Nicholas Wemple recovered a fumble.

Gavin Newburg led the defense with eight tackles.

Sidney 20,

Piqua 13

PIQUA — The Piqua football team tried to rally from a 20-0 deficit in the annual “Battered Helmet” game.

Noah Coleman caught a 28-yard TD pass from Caiden Thomas and when Izzy Coleman returned a fumble 64 yards and Gavin Larger kicked the PAT, Piqua trailed 20-13 with 4:28 remaining.

But, an onside kick failed and Sidney ran out the clock.

Thomas was eight of 17 passing for 73 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Noah Coleman caught three passes for 46 yards and Jericho Burns had 106 yards rushing on 22 attempts.

Owen Shawler led the defense with 11 tackles and Izzy Coleman had an interception and seven tackles.

Lehman Catholic 64,

Troy Christian 19

SIDNEY — In a game played at Lehman Catholic High School, the Cavaliers set up the showdown for the TRC title.

Lehman, 8-1 overall and 6-0 in the TRC will play at Northridge, 6-3 overall and 6-0 in the TRC Friday night with the title on the line.

Troy Christian, 0-9 overall and 0-6 in the TRC, will close the season at Bethel Friday night.

For Lehman, Turner Lachey was 13 of 15 passing for 330 yards and six touchdowns.

Evan O’Leary returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and caught six passes for 150 yards and three touchdowns.

CJ Olding caught five passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns and Da’Ron Pride caught 2 passes for 93 yards and a touchdown.

Lachey led the rushing attack with seven carries for 54 yards and a touchdown and kicked seven of eight PATs.

Dillon Schmiesing led the defense with 11 tackles and O’Leary and Grant Sollmann had seven tackles each.

For Troy Christian, Jacob Grossnickle was 11 of 21 passing for 145 yards and two touchdowns.

Jace Little had four catches for 95 yards and a touchdown and Lin Current had three catches for 30 yards and a touchdown.

Roman Scott had 75 yards rushing on 19 carries and Little had a 5-yard TD run.

Jacob Orange had eight tackles and recovered a fumble.

Northridge 40,

Milton-Union 21

DAYTON — The Milton-Union football team dropped a road game Friday night in TRC action.

Milton, 5-4 overall and 4-2 in the TRC, will host Riverside Friday night to close the regular season.

Wyatt Kimmel was five of 19 passing for 37 yards, with three interceptions.

Payton Mayfield had 117 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 15 carries, Charlie Lane had 17 carries for 80 yards and Kimmel ran for a touchdown.

Chase Hamann was 3-for-3 on PAT kicks.

Lane and Casey Berner had interceptions and Seth Lowry and Jacob Schuler had eight tackles.

Berner added seven tackles.

Riverside 26,

Covington 14

DEGRAFF — The Covington football team could get out of a 19-0 hole Friday night on the road.

The Buccs, 3-6 overall and 1-5 in the TRC, will host Miami East Friday night to close the regular season.

Landin Cassel was 18-for-42 passing for 245 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

Parker Hoying caught a 51-yard TD pass and had six receptions for 125 yards.

DayLynn Garrett caught eight passes for 82 yards.

Jordan Miller led the rushing attack with 40 yards on 14 carries, including a four-yard TD run.

Wyatt Parker kicked two PATs.

Filip McMaken had two interceptions and Jack Blumenstock had one interception.

Miami East 43,

Bethel 12

CASSTOWN — The Miami East football team picked up a TRC win on Senior Night.

The Vikings, 6-3 overall and 3-3 in the TRC, will close the regular season at Covington Friday night.

Bethel, 2-7 overall and 1-5 in the TRC, will close the season by hosting Troy Christian Friday night.

For East, KJ Gustin was 26 of 35 passing for 216 yards and three TDs.

Jack Hamaker caught seven passes for 72 yards and a touchdown and Lincoln Littlejohn caught eight passes for 60 yards and two touchdowns.

Caleb Staley was 4-for-4 on PAT kicks and kicked a 25-yard field goal.

Kamden Wolfer intercepted a pass.

Luke Bowsher led the defense with 15 tackles, Evan Maxson had 10 tackles and Brandon Stone had eight tackles.

Tri-Village 56,

Bradford 7

NEW MADISON — The Bradford football team dropped to 1-8 overall and 1-7 in the WOAC.

The Railroaders will close the season Friday at Arcanum.

Owen Canan completed six of 22 passes for 75 yards, with one touchdown and one interception.

Isaiah Purpus had four catches for 64 yards and one touchdown and Raiden Wombold kicked a PAT.

Purpus also had an interception, Canan led the defense with 11 tackles and Griffin Trevino added seven tackles.
