Miami County trick-or-treat events

TROY — Ghostly greetings! It’s time for spooks and scares again as residents and local businesses will host trick-or-treating events and parties throughout Miami County.

All of Miami County will have trick-or-treating on Thursday, Oct. 31.

Listed below are other trick-or-treat dates and various Halloween themed events to be held in the area.

Saturday, Oct. 19

• Tipp City Harvest Fest Street Party — on Second Street and Main Street will host live music with food, drinks, a costume contest and offers beer tent, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

• Piqua Harley Davidson Trunk or Treat — at 1501 E. Ash St., from 2 to 4 p.m.

• Fulton Farms Bluegrass Halloween Bash —at 2393 State Route 202 in Troy, includes a lighted corn maze, a beer garden, heated greenhouse, famous Fulton Farms Barbecue, and more for $15 per person from 6 to 11 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 20

• The Bethany Center — at 339 South St. in Piqua, will hold a trunk or treat from 2 to 4 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 21

• The Tipp City Parade and Costume Contest — participants will meet at Broadway Elementary School at 223 W. Broadway St. in Tipp City at 5:30 p.m. The parade will begin at 6 p.m. through downtown and end at Zion Church. After the parade, participants are invited to enter a costume-judging contest and play games.

Tuesday, Oct. 22

• Trick-or-Treat at the Piqua Center — 987 E. Ash St. in Piqua from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 24

• Trick-or-Treat at Stillwater Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation — at 75 Mote Drive in Covington from 5 to 7 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 26

• Trick-or-Treat and Eat — St. Johns United Church of Christ, 130 S. Walnut St. in Troy. Features food, games, and crafts, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

• Downtown Tipp City Merchant’s Trick-or-Treat — businesses in downtown Tipp City will hand out candy from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• Boo Bash at Hayner — Free public event at the Troy Hayner Cultural Center, at301 W. Main St. in Troy, featuring family friendly ghost stories, activities and prizes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Boos and Booze Mini Market at the Indian Creek Distillery — at 7095 Staley Road, in New Carlisle, features food trucks, local small business vendors, and spooky whiskey-themed cocktails. Free and open to the public from 4 to 10 p.m.

• Downtown Troy Hometown Halloween — festivities will begin with a costume contest and costume parade hosted by the Troy Optimists in the parking lot of the Hobart Center for County Government building which is located on Adams Street; event scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon. Beginning at 10 a.m., participants will be able to trick-or-treat at downtown Troy merchants.

Thursday, Oct. 31

• Pitsenbarger Park Trunk or Treat — On Thursday, it kicks off from 5:30 to 6 p.m. for all superheroes with special abilities, and then from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for all other ghosts and goblins. Trick-or-treaters are asked to bring outgrown coats, hats, and gloves as they will be taken to Sunset Cleaners, who have donated their services to clean and deliver the coats to those in need.

• Trick-or-Treat times on Oct. 31:

— West Liberty: 5 to 8 p.m.

— Troy: 6 to 8 p.m.

— Piqua: 6 to 8 p.m.

— Tipp City: 6 to 8 p.m.

• West Milton Second Street Trick-or-Treat Block Party — Oct. 31 from 6 to 9 p.m.

• The West Milton Rotary will also sponsor a Halloween Family Fun Night — Thursday, Oct. 31, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Miami Street in downtown West Milton. A Halloween costume contest will be held with costume judging at 5:15 p.m. with costume categories for ages 0-4; ages 5-8; ages 9-12; ages 13-17; ages 18 and over and group theme.
