WEST MILTON — The Bethel boys soccer team maintained a share of the TRC lead with a win on the road.

“Each and every match in the TRC is a battle royal and tonight was no exception,” Bethel coach Bob Hamlin said. “It is very tough for us to go to Milton-Union and play. Our last two matches were played on turf fields that are 70 yards wide.

“Then tonight, we play on about 55 yards field with thick grass. It slowed us down, but we slowly got used to it.”

Bethel got better as the game went on.

“I felt we played a good first half, moved the ball well in tight windows, but had trouble finishing the ball,” Hamlin said. “Second half, we again controlled the ball and eventually found the back of the net. Our goalkeeper Reed Dix came up with a few point blank saves to keep them at bay. A good win tonight after a couple tough matches.”

Phil Dix and David Kasimov had one goal and two assists each.

Jake Smith and Logan Newell had one goal each.
