SIDNEY — The Bethel boys soccer team rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to defeat Lehman Catholic 3-1 and grab a share of the TRC title.

Both Bethel and Troy Christian finished 7-1 in the conference.

“What a match to become co-champions of the TRC, Bethel coach Bob Hamlin said. “We were coming off homecoming week. Our bus is late leaving the school. We don’t get much warm up time and can’t go through our usual warm ups. And it takes some time to get used to the grass field. We credit our kids tonight for not panicking and playing like we have all year. That composure paid off well in the second half as the game got a little more physical.

“Our guys have worked very hard and accomplished a great deal this year. But I am really happy for them becoming league champions. Every night you get everyone’s best shot. They have stood tall and accepted every challenge. Now we have to start preparing for the post season and a new set of challenges.’
