Piqua-Caldwell Historic District to hold Haunted tours

PIQUA — If Halloween is your favorite holiday, the Piqua-Caldwell Historic District (PCHD) has a new twist for you! Join one of the Haunted Neighborhood Walking Tours on Friday, Oct. 18, or, Saturday, Oct. 19.

The tour is for ages 18 and older where timed small groups will depart and walk the district, with a knowledgeable tour guide telling where…all the tales are buried, so to speak. The first group will leave at 7 p.m. and the last group at 9 p.m. each night.

“The tours will cover quite a bit of the neighborhood, so bring a small flashlight, wear comfortable walking shoes, and be prepared to hear some hair-raising stories!” Board Chair Don Smith said in a press release.

Tickets for the Haunted Neighborhood Walking Tours are $25 and must be purchased in advance. For purchasing details visit www.piquacaldwellhistoricdistrict.org.

Groups will meet and check in at 324 West Ash St. in Piqua and depart on a timed schedule for the 30-minute walking tour. Please check in a few minutes early to avoid missing your tour.

Funds raised at this event benefit the PCHD Association, which focuses on maintaining the historical fabric of the neighborhood, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Mark your calendar for more family-friendly PCHD events such as the historic holiday tour of homes on Saturday, Dec.14, where guests will get a look at some of the most gorgeous homes in the neighborhood!

The Piqua-Caldwell Historic District Association, founded in 2017, acquired its 501(c)3 non-profit designation in 2019, and is focused on “Preserving our Past for the Future.”
