Piqua Commission honors O’Donnell, hosts Troop 2076

The city of Piqua declared Tuesday, Oct. 15 Michael O’Donnell Day. O’Donnell served as a volunteer firefighter in Covington for 36 years and continues to honor first responders every year on Sept. 11 by standing in dress uniform outside the Piqua Fire Station. O’Donnell, front right, was issued a proclamation for his services from Commissioner Tom Hohman, front left as Commissioner Paul Simmons, back left to right, Mayor Kris Lee, Commissioner Jim Vetter, and Commissioner Frank DeBrosse look on.

The kindergarten to fourth graders asked questions to the city commissioners and observed the meeting, as they worked on earning their democracy badge.
