PIQUA — Smoothie Life, a local smoothie and healthy food business has opened its second location at 115 E. High St., Piqua, on Friday, Oct.4.

Smoothie Life first opened its doors at its Sidney location three years ago in 2021.

“It’s been absolutely amazing, Sidney’s been super successful and has such great reviews, loyal customers, and ultimately I knew that I wanted more locations as time went on,” said Smoothie Life owner Julie Casiano. “Last year in 2023, I was approached by the owners of the building for an opportunity to bring Smoothie Life to Piqua, it was a perfect fit, and it was how we came about with the Piqua Smoothie Life location.”

“Smoothie Life started in the midst of the COVID pandemic as I was dreaming of not having to drive out of town to get a good smoothie,” said Casiano. “My family and I started to create smoothies in our home and we just pretty much started with an idea, a thought, and a dream, and we knew Sidney was in need of a smoothie shop.”

“We’ve really seen and noticed that the customers in our community are desiring healthier options and things they can purchase for a quick lunch, drink, or refreshment that comes from fresh products without the added sugars and additives,” said Casiano.

Casiano shared that Smoothie Life also has plans to expand to other locations in the future.

“We are very dedicated to expanding into other local communities to bring them the Smoothie Life experience,” said Casiano. “I definitely see Smoothie Life expanding to several local communities and continuing where the journey leads us from there.”

Customers can expect to see a variety of options including smoothies, organic juices, salads, wraps, soup, and even merchandise. The menu is built around everyday fresh, quality ingredients, and provides healthy dining options.

“We are very well known for our protein balls,” said Casiano. “They are always $1, and are a great healthier option to a sweet treat.”

“When you walk into Smoothie Life, the first you will notice is the beautiful aesthetic and environment,” said Casiano. “We really strive to make people feel welcome, and we stand for being different than other establishments.”

“We want everyone to know that we are so happy that they’re supporting our small business,” said Smoothie Life’s General Manager Kaci Sage.

Smoothie Life prides itself on being an establishment of women and mothers and also being a place that includes people with disabilities and special needs and is very dedicated to hiring all sorts of individuals.

“We really can make anything happen. Just being a woman, a mother, and being in a small town, this is an example of an idea turned into a dream,” said Casiano. “Just encourage other people to follow their dreams and know that you can do big things and be the change.”

“It’s a perfect place to enjoy lunch with your friends, grab a smoothie, or get a couple hours of work done,” said Casiano. “We also have a kid’s area where they can color custom Smoothie Life pictures.”

In both the Sidney and Piqua locations, you can see the words “BE THE CHANGE” on the walls and in everything they do.

Smoothie Life is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is a short walking distance from the Lock 9 Park.
