Spirit Emergency Medical Services weekly log

Sept. 8-14

According to Brian K. Hathaway, Spirit EMS president/CEO, during the week of Sept. 8-14, there were four emergency medical dispatches; an increase of three compared to the previous week.

All calls originated from the Houston EMS district, which includes Loramie and Washington Townships as well as the village of Lockington, while excluding the village of Russia.

Of the patients involved, two were transported from the scene, while one declined transport after being evaluated by EMS personnel. Spirit EMS was also dispatched to assist Houston and Lockington firefighters, along with Shelby County deputies, in response to a loud explosion; however, the source was quickly identified, and all responding units were subsequently canceled. All of the responses were made from the Spirit EMS satellite station located at 5125 Russia-Houston Road, Houston.

Among the transported patients, one was taken to Wilson Health in Sidney, and the other was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.

Spirit EMS responded to 100% of its dispatched calls.
