Strong winds uprooted a tree at Third Street South of Main Street in downtown Tipp City on Friday, Sept.27. The excessive storm caused the cancellation of the Tipp City Festival’s Cruise In, which was scheduled to take place at the same location.

A large tree branch broke off near a residence at Fourth Street and Walnut Street in Tipp City on Friday, Sept. 27 due to the excessive storm. Fortunately, no damage was done to the home.

TIPP CITY — Bad storms with heavy rain and high winds rolling through Miami County Friday, Sept. 27, has caused power outages across the county and also for the Tipp City Mum Festival’s Cruise In Friday night to be canceled.
The Mum Festival Committee posted on its Facebook page the following message: “Per the conjoined effort between the police department and the committee, the Cruise In is CANCELED tonight.
“The Festival will kick off with the Mum Run at 8am tomorrow.”
As of 6 p.m. Friday, there is a total of 1070 power outages reported in Miami County, according AES Ohio.
