TROY — The Troy-Miami County Public Library (TMCPL) and Maker Lab announced the following upcoming events.

Teen art club

TMCPL will host a Teen Art Club on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 3-5 p.m. Explore your creativity using various materials to make art at the library. All supplies are provided and no registration is required. This club is for teens in grades 6-12. Additional sessions are scheduled on Oct. 22 and Nov. 19.

Tweencraft

Create, make, and laugh while building new friendships at Tweencraft on Saturday. Sept. 28, at 10 a.m. Try exciting DIY projects to express your unique style and discover your creativity each month at the TMCPL. This program is for children in grades 4-8, and no registration is required. Additional sessions are scheduled on Oct. 26 and Nov. 23.

Boozy Book Club

The Mayflower Distillery will host a book chat on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 6:30 p.m. for a book chat to discuss The Guest List by Lucy Foley. Boozy Book Club meets at The Mayflower by A.M. Scott Distillery located at 9 West Main St., Troy, in the Gallery.

Food and bar service will be available for those interested. This meeting is for adults and no registration is necessary. Books for discussion are available at the library or try the Libby app on your favorite device to download a digital copy. Additional sessions are scheduled for Nov. 5, First Ladies by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray, and Dec. 3, The Beach at Summerly by Beatriz Williams.

No equipment, no problem fitness course

Want to get fit without purchasing a gym membership or expensive equipment? Learn how to use body weight and minimal equipment to gain maximum fitness benefits at the TMCPL on Friday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. Presented by a Fitness Specialist from Kettering Health, this course is for adults, and registration is required. 3D-printed ghost keychains at the Maker Lab

Learn the basics of the Prusa slicer software to create a fun ghost keychain using the 3D printer just in time for the spooky season at the Maker Lab on Monday, Oct. 7 at 3:30 p.m.

Participants will go over start-to-finish basics like how to find an image file and create it on the printer. Each patron will leave with a ghost keychain. For kids and teens (grades 3-12) and adults. Registration is required. Please reserve a spot starting Sept. 23 at www.tmcpl.org/libcal. Call the lab at 937-703-3475 for more information.

Cancer prevention and early detection

Learn about factors that increase your risk of developing cancer and ways to reduce your risk at Troy-Miami County Public Library on Monday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. Discuss the role of cancer screening tests in finding cancer early, with the best survival rate. Presented by Rae Norrod, Oncology Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist from Kettering Health Cancer Care. For adults.
