TROY — Here are some upcoming September events at the Troy-Miami County Public Library (TMCPL).

Fiber arts group

Knit, crochet, or stitch your way through the afternoon this fall at the. Bring your fiber arts project to the library on Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 1- 2:30 p.m., ask for advice from others in the group, and get inspired for your next creation! No registration is needed. Additional sessions are scheduled for Sept. 17, Oct. 1, Oct. 15, Nov. 5, Nov. 19, Dec. 3, and Dec. 17.

Shelf Aware Reading Club

The first Wednesday of every month at 1:30 p.m. the TMCPL presents a different genre or type of book to enjoy together! You choose what to read within the category. No registration is needed. Dates and discussion topics are Sept. 4 (Travel Books), Oct. 2 (Domestic Thrillers), Nov. 6 (Humorous Reads), and Dec. 4 (Historical Fiction by Female Authors). English Conversation Club

Are you an ESL adult who wants to practice your English, new to the community, or a native speaker who enjoys interacting with international people? Come to the English Conversation Club on Monday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. This is a fluid group that enjoys meeting new people, eating food, and having a good joke. Be ready to talk and have fun! No registration is needed for this program. Additional sessions are scheduled for Sept. 23, Oct. 7, Oct. 21, Nov. 4, Nov. 18, and Dec. 2.

Library stories

Join the TMCPL for a mix of stories, songs, and early literacy activities. Perfect for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers with their favorite adults. their favorite adult You don’t need to register. Library Stories is offered on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 9, and Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m., beginning Sept. 10. – Choose the session that fits your schedule the best.

Additional session dates include: Mondays, Sept. 9, 16, 23, 30, Oct. 7, 21, 28, Nov. 4, 18 (excludes Oct. 14, Nov. 11) and Tuesdays, Sept. 10, 17, 24, Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Nov. 5, 12, and 19.

Baby stories

Join the TMCPL for Baby Stories on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. beginning Tuesday, Sept. 10. Boost your baby’s early literacy skills in this playful lap time. Short stories, knee bounces and playtime make the ideal learning and bonding environment for our youngest readers and their favorite adults. You don’t need to register. For ages 0-2 years. Additional sessions are scheduled weekly and include the following dates, Sept. 10, 17, 24, Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, and Nov. 5, 12, and 19.

Teen Dungeons & Dragons

Immerse yourself in storytelling, strategy, and camaraderie as you embark on epic quests in Dungeons & Dragons, a tabletop role-playing game on Tuesday, Sept. 10 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. No prior experience is necessary—bring your imagination and join the fun! For teens in grades 6-12. Registration is required. Please reserve a spot beginning two weeks before each session at www.tmcpl.org/libcal. Additional sessions are scheduled for Oct. 8 and Nov. 12.

STEAM lab

Join the TMCPL on Wednesdays, weekly beginning Sept. 11 at 4 p.m., for hands-on experiments and projects that explore science, technology, engineering, art, or math to inspire future innovators! STEAM Lab is perfect for elementary students in grades K-5. No registration is needed for this program. Additional sessions are scheduled for Sept.18,25 Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, and Nov. 6, 13, and 20.

Lego builders

Have fun with Legos on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. Develop creativity and engineering skills by working together to complete imaginative challenges and free building. Perfect for elementary students. Additional sessions are scheduled for Oct. 10, Nov. 14, and Dec. 12.

Afternoon book

TMCPL will hold an Afternoon Book & Craft each Thursday at 2 p.m. beginning Sept. 12 this fall. Each week includes a story, craft, or activity based on a picture book for toddlers and preschoolers. (Ages 3-5). Registration is required. Please reserve a spot beginning two weeks before each session at www.tmcpl.org/libcal. Additional sessions are scheduled for Sept. 12. 19, 26. Oct. 3,10,17,24,31, and Nov. 7,14, and 21.

Taste Test Thursdays

TMCPL will hold Taste Test Thursdays this fall. Teens can put their taste buds to the test each month trying samples and choosing favorites! On Sept. 12 from 3-5 p.m., participants can sample root beers in a special session sponsored by Moeller Brew Barn! You don’t need to register. For tweens and teens in grades 6-12. Additional sessions are scheduled for Oct. 10, and Nov. 14.

Meet Libby

Unlock endless worlds with our digital book collection using the Libby app! TMCPL Tech Trainer will show you how to do this on Saturday, Sept. 14 at noon. Libby gives you access to ebooks, e-audiobooks, and other resources using your library card and your favorite reading device! You don’t need to register.

Homeschool Bookish Group

Join the TMCPL on Monday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. for Homeschool Bookish Group! What are you reading? Miss Andrea will have one book to share and an activity to dive into each session. You don’t need to register. Additional sessions are scheduled for Oct. 7, 21, and Nov. 4, 18.

Teen Paint Like Bob Ross

Join the TMCPL on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. to Paint Like Bob Ross! Paint some happy little trees in this video-led painting session. All supplies provided. For tweens and teens in grades 6-12. Registration is required. Please reserve a spot beginning Sept. 5 at www.tmcpl.org/libcal.

Beginning drawing

Capture the fun and reward of learning to draw on Sept. 23 and 30 at 6 p.m. This two-session class will teach you to sketch various objects using 2D, 3D, perspectives, and shading. The class is presented by Mike Nygren, a local artist, and instructor. All supplies will be provided. For adults. Registration is required and includes both 90-minute sessions.
