TROY — The Troy girls tennis team handled the heat Monday evening and came away with a 5-0 win over Lehman Catholic at Troy High School to improve to 4-3 on the season.

Tuesday’s match on the road with Xenia has been moved back to 6 p.m. due to the heat.

Lehman dropped to 0-5 on the season, but Tim Ungericht sees a lot of positives with his team.

“It is the most competitive we have been against Troy in a long time,” Ungericht said. “Mark (Troy coach Mark Goldner) and I are good friends and I am glad we had the chance to play them. It is good for both schools.”

In singles, Nina Short defeated Charlotte Spaide 6-0, 6-3; Calista Hicks defeated Brooklyn Fortkamp 6-2, 6-3 and Kimber Connors defeated Ashreal Alvarez 6-1, 6-3.

In doubles, Maile Romberger and Izzy Lutz defeated Eliza Westerheide and Kyla McGinnis 7-6 (4), 6-1 and Savannah Gibson and Allison Straughn defeated Dublin Cooper and Kari Pleasant 6-0, 6-1.
