TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe girls tennis team finished third at the Schroeder Invitational Saturday, Troy was fourth, Milton-Union tied for fifth place and Lehman Catholic finished eighth.

FIRST SINGLES

Nina Short (Troy) finished fourth, Eleanor Spangler (Tippecanoe) finished fifth, Peyton Henderson (Milton-Union) finished sixth and Charlotte Spaide (Lehman) finished seventh.

In the opening round, Short defeated Henderson 8-2, Spangler lost to Lima Shawnee 8-4 and Spaide lost to Chaminade-Julienne 8-0.

In the semifinals, Short lost to Oakwood 8-0 and in the third-place match, she lost to Lima Shawnee 8-0.

In the backdraw, Henderson defeated St. Marys 8-1 and Spangler defeated Spaide 8-6.

In the fifth-place match, Spangler defeated Henderson 8-3 and in the seventh-place match Spaide defeated St. Marys 8-2.

SECOND SINGLES

Bre Kovaleski (Tippecanoe) finished third, Aubrey Twentier (Milton-Union) finished fifth, Calista Hicks (Troy) finished seventh and Brooklyn Fortkamp (Lehman) finished eighth.

In the opening round, Kovaleski defeated Twentier 8-0; Hicks lost to Chaminade-Julienne 8-0 and Fortkamp lost to St. Marys 8-3.

In the semifinals, Kovaleski lost to Chaminade-Julienne 8-0, before defeating St. Marys 8-0 in the third-place match.

In the back draw, Twentier defeated Hicks 8-5 and Fortkamp lost to Lima Shawnee 8-2.

In the fifth-place match, Twentier defeated Lima Shawnee 9-8 (1) and in the seventh-place match, Hicks defeated Fortkamp 8-6.

THIRD SINGLES

Jillian Schroeder (Tippecanoe) finished second, Kimber Connors (Troy) finished fifth, Mary White (Troy) finished sixth and Kayana Stacy (Milton-Union) finished eighth.

In the opening round, Schroeder defeated Stacy 8-0, Connors lost to Oakwood 8-6 and White lost to Chaminade-Julienna 8-0.

In the semifinals, Schroeder defeated Oakwood 8-3, before losing to Chaminade-Julienne 8-1 in the title match.

In the backdraw, White defeated St. Marys 8-2 and Connors defeated Stacy 8-0.

In the fifth-place match Connors defeated White 8-3 and in the seventh-place match, Stacy lost to St. Marys 8-1.

FIRST DOUBLES

Sydney LaBreck/Eve McCormick (Tippecanoe) finished third, GraceLeffew/Grace Ammon (Milton-Union) finished fourth, Izzy Lutz/Maile Romberger (Troy) finished fifth and Eliza Westerheide/Kyla McGinnish (Lehman) finished sixth.

In the opening round, Tipp defeated St. Marys 8-0, Milton-Union defeated Lima Shawnee 8-3, Troy lost to Chaminade-Julienne 8-0 and Lehman lost to Oakwood 8-0.

In the semifinals, Tippecanoe lost to Oakwood 8-3 and Milton-Union lost to Chaminade-Julienne 8-0.

In the third-place match, Tippecanoe defeated Milton-Union 8-2.

In the backdraw, Troy defeated Lima Shawnee 8-2 and Lehman defeated St. Marys 8-3.

In the fifth-place match, Troy defeated Lehman 8-2.

SECOND DOUBLES

Savannah Gibson/Allison Straughn (Troy) finished second, Samantha Kozen/Madilyn Leiber (Tippecanoe) finished third, Penelope Bobic/Violet Hess (Milton-Union) finished fourth and Kali Pleasant/Dublin Cooper (Lehman) finished eighth.

In the opening round, Tippecanoe defeated St. Marys 8-3, Milton-Union defeated Lima Shawnee 8-4 and Troy defeated Oakwood 8-4.

In the semifinals, Troy defeated Milton-Union 8-2 and Tippecanoe lost to Chaminade-Julienne 8-0.

In the title match, Chaminade-Julienne defeated Troy 8-0 and in the third-place match, Tippecanoe defeated Milton-Union 8-1.

In the backdraw, Lehman lost to St. Marys 8-0 and in the seventh-place match Lehman lost to Lima Shawnee 8-1.

VOLLEYBALL

BEAVERCREEK — The Troy volleyball team gave Beavercreek a battle in the opening match of the season Saturday.

The Trojans lost 25-17, 25-17, 19-25, 25-23.

Sophie Michalos had nine kills for Troy and Sydney Astor added seven kills.

Cema Rajab had five aces and 13 digs, Reagan Duff had six aces and two blocks and Gracie Baker had two blocks.

Livia Luciano had nine digs, Julia Kimer dished out 12 assists and Kayla Huber had 11 assists.

Milton-Union 3,

Piqua 1

PIQUA — The Milton-Union volleyball team defeated Piqua 25-17, 25-17, 19-25, 25-21.

For Milton-Union, Jenna Brumbaugh had 19 kills, 22 digs and three blocks; Michaela Firks had 11 kills, 21 assists, seven aces and 11 digs and Mylee Jones had 17 assists and 10 digs.

Tessa Ryerson had nine digs, Sophie Layman had six blocks and Railin Combs added four blocks.

For Piqua, Riley Baker had nine kills, three aces and nine digs; Natalie Hemmert had eight kills and three aces and Megan Hull had eight kills and 15 digs.

Megan Gebhart had two blocks, Abigail Kirk had 19 assists and 15 digs and Aubrey Applegate had nine digs.

The Eagles defeated National Trail 25-13, 25-13 and lost to Greenon 25-15, 25-19.

ANNA — The Covington volleyball team lost 25-22, 25-15, 25-18 on road Saturday.

Hollan Koffer had 12 digs and six kills, Addison Ventura had five kills, 10 assists and eight digs and Taylor Kirker had four kills, three blocks and 10 assists.

Ramse Vanderhorst had two aces and 23 digs, Nell Rogers had 10 digs and Mazelle Reck added three blocks.

SIDNEY — The Lehman Catholic volleyball team opened the season with a 25-21, 25-19, 25-14 win on the road Saturday.

Kailee Rank had 22 kills and 18 digs, Madison Rank had four aces and 37 assists and Lilly Leininger added 12 kills.

Gracie Anderson served four aces, Lilly Graham had 16 digs and Hanna Cavanaugh added 10 digs.

Braxton Penrod and Mazzi Martinez had one goal each and Ty Pettus had one assist.

Tanner Stevens had three saves in goal.

Colt Courtad had two goals and one assist and Zen Wagner had one goal and one assist.

Brayden Ulrich had a goal and Brennan Potts dished out two assists.
