SIDNEY — The Lehman Catholic boys soccer team won a close game on its home pitch Saturday.

Jeremiah LaForme had one goal and one assist and Chris Galbreath and Gus Richard each had one goal.

Colt Courtad and Zen Wagner had one assist each.

Colin Potts had seven saves in goal.

For Newton, Parker Kanet and Brenson Skinner had one goal each and Evan Hemphill had one assist.

Emi Wray had one goal and one assist and Veronica Pannapara had one goal.

Eliyah Barhorst had one assist.

Callie Giguere had eight saves in goal.

Gwen Holbrook scored Newton’s goal on an assist from Rylee Hess.

Breanna Ingle had seven saves in goal.

Coaches Cup

SPRINGFIELD — The Lehman Catholic girls tennis team won the Springfield flight of the OTCA Coaches Cup.

“Our girls handled the cold, windy conditions very well to bring home the championship,” Lehman coach Tim Ungericht said. “We finished the tourney very well, winning four of the five matches in the last round, which clinched the team title for us. They have worked hard, improved and deserve this title.”

Charlotte Spaide won first singles, defeating Greeneview, Springfield and West Carrollton all by scores of 8-2.

Brooklyn Fortkamp was third at second singles, beating Springfield 8-4 and losting to West Carrollton and Greneview 8-3.

Ashreal Alvarez won third singles, beating West Carrollton 8-2, Greeneview 8-3 and Springfield 8-5.

TROY — The Troy high school volleyball team lost to Northmont 15-25, 25-19, 25-14, 25-14 Saturday.

Eliza Westerheide and Kyla McGinnis won first doubles, beating Greeneview 8-0 and Springfield and West Carrollton 8-2.

Dublin Cooper and Kali Pleasant finished first at second doubles, losing to West Carrollton 8-3 and defeating Springfield 8-6 and Greeneview 8-1.

NEW CARLISLE — The Piqua volleyball team dropped two matches in a tri-match Saturday.

Piqua lost to Wayne 25-17, 25-22.

Molly Hemmert and Kaitlynn Sorrell had five kills each.

Riley Baker had four kills and five digs and Abigail Kirk had 13 assists and six digs.

Piqua lost to Tecumseh 25-27, 25-21, 25-21.

Baker had six kills and 14 digs and Kirk dished out 16 assists.

Audrey Applegate served five aces, Megan Hull had 13 digs and Campbell O’Neal added 11 digs.

TROY — The Troy Christian girls volleyball team outlasted Northwestern 25-18, 22-25, 25-16, 22-25, 15-11 Saturday.

Maddie Fourman had 12 kills, 12 digs and four blocks, Jenna Borton had nine kills and eight blocks and Myla Toney had nine kills and five blocks.

Olivia Simmons had 35 assists and 12 digs and Chloe Simmons had five aces, four blocks and 13 digs.

Ella Matthews had 20 digs and Reign Wilkins added 16 digs.

CASSTOWN — The Miami East volleyball team got past Fairlawn 18-25, 25-21, 28-26, 25-14 Saturday.

Jaycee Roeth had 15 kills and 10 digs and Whitni Enis had seven kills.

Kylie Gentis had 22 assists and 17 digs and Jersey Cutlip had 21 assists and 18 digs.

Kamryn Apple ahd Emma Rust had 18 digs each.

ST. PARIS — The Bethel volleyball team cruised to a 25-7, 25-7, 25-15 win Saturday.

Aubrey Bunting and Layla Moore had seven kills each.

Kyra Clawson had 16 assists and six aces.

Claire Bailey had five aces and 11 digs and Jordyn Pham served three aces.

COVINGTON — The Covington volleyball team picked up its sixth straight win Saturday.

The Buccs topped Russia 25-18, 25-19, 25-23.

DAYTON — The Bradford volleyball team picked up its first win of the season, topping Northridge 25-15, 25-18, 17-25, 25-21.

PITSBURG — The Newton volleyball team got a 25-23, 25-17, 25-14 win over Franklin Monroe on Friday night.

Sienna Montgomery had 18 kills and Ava Rapp added 15 kills and 11 digs.

Makenna Kesling dished out 22 assists.

Aubrey Stetzel had 13 assists, nine digs and eight aces, Estie Rapp had 14 digs and Hannah Williams added nine digs.
