West Milton church has new pastor

WEST MILTON — Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has a new pastor – the Rev. Rachel Semovoski.

She started at the church, located at 1209 S. Miami St. in West Milton, in July 2024 and was installed at the special service held on Sunday, Sept. 8, said a Good Shepherd Lutheran Church press release.

Semovoski brings a wealth of experience and knowledge and years of service to the church.

“This is an exciting time in the life of the Church,” said David Stein, Church Council president, in the release. “We are excited to start a new chapter in the life of our congregation.”

Founded in 1959, Good Shepherd is a part of the Southern Ohio Synod ELCA and also the Milton-Union Council of Churches.

Semovoski has a Master of Divinity from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. She started her ministry in 2009 and has served five prior congregations for a total of 15 years. She is married to Joshua who is an Air Force Chaplain at WPAFB and has two daughters. She wants to help Good Shepherd continue to bring the good news of God’s love in Jesus Christ to the West Milton community.
