MIAMI VALLEY — With the Christmas holiday approaching, many people will celebrate by attending a Christmas Eve service offered by their church. Below are some of the churches in Miami County offering a Christmas Eve service on Friday, Dec. 24, by location:
Bradford:
• The Common Ground Christian Church will be holding a service starting at 7:30 p.m. The service is also available online at their website (commongroundcc.com). They are located at 120 W. Oakwood St.
Covington:
• Fields of Grace will be holding a service, “The Coming King,” starting at 6 p.m. They are located at 326 E. Troy Pike.
• The Covington Christian Church is holding their Christmas Eve Service on Dec. 23. The service, “Homecoming,” is at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. They are located at 115 N. Pearl St.
Fletcher:
• Fletcher United Methodist Church will be holding a service starting at 7 p.m. They are located at 205 S. Walnut St.
Piqua:
• St. Paul’s Church will be holding a service starting at 7 p.m., which can also be watched live on their website (stpaulspiqua.org). They are located at 500 N. Downing St. Little ones can wear their PJ’s and are invited up front for a bedtime Christmas story read by Dr. Keith Gebhart. Music Minister Jason Townsend and Organist Jane Ann Vest collaborate to provide the music that the community has come to expect, many of your traditional favorites will be played, and of course the service will be completed with the candlelight singing of Silent Night.
• Westminster Presbyterian Church will be holding a a candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols on Christmas Eve at 7 p.m. They are located at 325 W. Ash St.
• St. Mary Catholic Church will be holding a service, “Christmas Mass and Holy Family,” at 6 p.m. St. Mary is located at 528 Broadway St. Their associated church, St. Boniface Catholic Church, will also host a service starting at 4 p.m. St. Boniface is located at 310 S. Downing St.
• St. John’s Lutheran Church will hold Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship services at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Fifteen minutes prior to each service time there will be pre-service organ and piano music including piano/organ duets. There will also be Holy Communion at both worship services. Social distancing is practiced. Masks are welcome, but optional. St. John’s Lutheran Church is located at 248 Wood St., Piqua.
Pleasant Hill:
• The First Brethren Church will be holding a service, “Christmas Eve Candlelight Service: Celebrating God’s Greatest Gift,” at 7:15 p.m. They are located at 210 N. Church St.
Tipp City:
• Ginghamsburg Church will be holding four services at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m. These services can also be watched online at their website (ginghamsburg.org). They are located at 6759 S. County Rd. 25A.
• Tipp City United Methodist Church will be holding two services, “Candlelight Christmas Eve Services,” starting at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. These services can also be watched online at their website (tippcityumc.org). They are located at 8 W. Main St.
• Tipp City Church of the Nazarene will be holding a service, “Christmas Eve Candlelight Service,” at 6 p.m. They are located at 1221 W. Main St.
Troy:
• Troy First United Methodist Church will be holding five different services on Christmas Eve, starting with a service at 4:30 p.m. that is geared toward children. They will also hold a contemporary service at 5:30 p.m. at First Place, a service at 7 p.m. featuring their choir, a service at 9 p.m. featuring a bells performance, and a service at 11 p.m. that will offer Communion. They are located at 110 W. Franklin St., Troy.
• St. Patrick Catholic Church will be holding two services at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. They are located at 409 E. Main St.
• Cornerstone Baptist Church will be holding a service at 6 p.m. The service can also be watched at their website (cbctroy.org). They are located at 1879 Old Staunton Rd.
• Troy Christian Church will be holding a service at 6:30 p.m. They are located at 1440 E. State Route 55.
• Join True Life Community Church on Christmas Eve at 4:30 p.m. for a Special Christmas Service. Connect with TLC online at www.tlctroy.com, or on Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube. TLC is handicapped accessible. The church is located at 56 Foss Way. Call 937-332-0041 for more information.
• Trinity Episcopal Church in Troy will hold a Candlelight Service on Christmas Eve at 4 p.m. They are located at 60 S. Dorset Rd. in Troy.
• First Presbyterian Church of Troy will hold a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. Please join them for a service of lessons, carols, and candles. They are located at 20 S. Walnut St., Troy.
• Troy Church of the Brethren will hold a traditional Christmas Eve Service from 6:30-7:30 p.m. They are located at 1431 West Main St., Troy.
West Milton:
• Church of the Transfiguration Catholic Church will be holding two services at 5 p.m. and midnight. These services can also be watched online at their website (transfigurationcatholicchurch.org). They are located at 972 S. Miami St.
• Hoffman United Methodist Church will be holding two services, “Christmas Eve Candlelight Services,” at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. These services can also be watched online at their website (hoffmanumc.org). They are located at 201 S. Main St.
