PIQUA — The Piqua and Graham boys basketball teams will meet in the championship game of the Piqua Holiday Tournament Thursday.

Graham defeated Troy Christian 45-43 in the opening game Wednesday night at Garbry Gymnasium, while Piqua defeated Fairlawn 52-38 in the nightcap.

Troy Christian and Fairlawn will play in the consolation game at 6 p.m. Thursday, followed by Piqua and Graham at 7:30 p.m.

Piqua led Fairlawn 16-4, 25-15 and 33-28 at the quarter breaks.

Dre’Sean Roberts led Piqua, 4-0, with 22 points against Fairlawn.

Anson Cox had six points and nine rebounds and Caleb Lyons scored six points.

Colton Beougher pulled down six rebounds.

In the opening game, Frank Rupnik had a basket to give Troy Christian a 43-41 lead late in the fourth quarter.

But, Graham tied the game at 43 and the Falcons — after missing four straight free throws late in the game — scored with 2.5 seconds to go for the win.

The Eagles, 7-1 on the season, were tied with the Falcons 7-7 after one quarter.

Graham led 24-23 at halftime and went up 38-31 after three quarters.

Springboro 59,

Troy 55

TROY — The Troy boys basketball team had another slow start before rallying in the second half and falling just short.

Troy, 3-5 on the season, trailed 11-8 after one quarter and 29-21 at halftime.

The game was tied at 38 after three quarters, before the Panthers pulled out the win.

Noah Davis led Troy with 19 points.

Konyae Foster had nine points, three assists and three steals; Charlie Walker netted eight points and Isaac Phillips added six points and five rebounds.

Tippecanoe 73,

TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe boys basketball team improved to 5-1 with a home non-conference win.

Tipp led 27-12, 46-29 and 63-38 at the quarter breaks.

Milton-Union 65,

Dixie 47

NEW LEBANON — The Milton-Union boys basketball team improved to 5-3 with a win in the consolation game of the Dixie Holiday Tournament.

Milton led 16-10, 25-25-15 and 48-25 at the quarter breaks.

Blake Brumbaugh had 23 points, 11 rebounds and three assists.

Connor Yates added 21 points and seven rebounds and Cooper Brown had 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocked shots.

Landon Bechtel had six assists and Tyler Kress added four assists.

Lehman 55,

Triad 37

NORTH LEWISBURG — The Lehman Catholic boys basketball team went on the road to improve to 6-3 on the season.

Lehman led 10-6, 23-11 and 40-24 at the quarter breaks.

Justin Chapman had 14 points and 12 rebounds as Lehman dominated the boards 30-14.

Donovan O’Leary had 16 points and five rebounds and Michael McFarland had 11 points and nine rebounds.
