TIPP CITY – The city of Tipp City has announced Upper Valley Medical Center (UVMC) will partner with the city on its Tippecanoe Family Aquatic Center upgrades project this year.

The UVMC Parent Board of Directors has donated $250,000 toward the project, which will encompass renovations and upgrades including a new aquatic feature in the middle of the zero-entry pool. The unique new aquatic equipment will allow for accessibility to those with physical limitations.

The new feature is expected to be installed in September 2022 for the 2023 pool season due to supply chain issues.

“The administration and City Council are proud to be a partner with UVMC to fulfill their mission of building strong, healthy communities, as well as, continuing to making sure that we fulfill our mission in providing programs and accessibility to the aquatic center for anyone visiting the facility. We are grateful to UVMC for their donation for the facility improvement and commitment to Tipp City,” said City Manager Tim Eggleston.

“We are grateful to our UVMC Parent Board for providing this donation through the UVMC Community Benefit Fund,” said Kevin Harlan, UVMC president. “This fund was established to support initiatives that help serve the health and wellness-related needs of the Miami County area and align with the Premier Health mission of building strong, healthy communities.”
