Feb. 16

AGENCY ASSIST: Piqua Fire Department was dispatched for the smell of propane near a rail road crossing on Garbry Road at 6:47 a.m. Police presence was not requested.

HIT SKIP ACCIDENT: Subject reported her vehicle had been hit by another vehicle sometime in the last three days. Subject was unsure where or when the incident occurred and wanted to document the damage.

AGENCY ASSIST: Assist fire call for a gas leak on the 1300 block of Fairfox Avenue at 10:58 a.m. Officer assisted with traffic control while leak was repaired.

CIVIL: Police responded to a call referencing a customer not returning items they had rented at Four Star Tool Rental on High Street at 11:03 a.m.

SUSPICIOUS: Police responded to a call referencing a male subject lying in the snow outside of Sunoco on North County Road 25A at 11:26 a.m. Male was located and stated his girlfriend left him there and he was waiting for her to return. Male subject then left the area on foot without incident.

CIVIL: Police responded to a call referencing male subject violating a protection order on McKinley Avenue at 11:27 a.m. The case was forwarded to the prosecutor for review.

AGENCY ASSIST: Officer was dispatched to make contact with an adult male at his residence and instruct him to contact another police department in regard to a stolen vehicle on Washington Avenue at noon. Officer made contact at the residence and stayed with the stolen vehicle until it was picked up by the owner.

TRESPASSING: Police responded to a call referencing a disorderly male at a residence on the 600 block of Covington Avenue at 12:58 p.m. Male, identified as Scott L. Coble, 57, of Piqua, was located and arrested for fourth-degree misdemeanor trespassing. Male was then transported to the hospital for mental health evaluation.

THEFT: Caller reported that some juveniles came into the This And That Candy on Main store the night before and stole some candy. The case is pending further investigation.

ACCIDENT: A two-vehicle accident was reported on the 1400 block of South Street at 2:44 p.m.

CHILD ENDANGERING: Police responded to a call referencing a small child walking around an apartment complex parking lot unattended at 4:43 p.m. The child was located, and the babysitter was found. The child was returned to the babysitter.

SHOTS FIRED: Callers report three shots fired in the area of the 900 block of Marlboro Avenue at 9:03 p.m. Two .40 cal casings recovered at scene. Suspect later located, arrested, and incarcerated. Suspect was arrested on the 1400 block of South Street at 11:18 p.m. Gavin M. King, 23, of Piqua, was charged with fourth-degree felony improperly handling of firearms in a motor vehicle in connection with this incident.

ASSAULT: Female was head butted by a known subject on the 400 block of Kitt Street at 9:58 p.m. The male suspect, identified as Seth R. Jacobs, 26, of Piqua, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor assault and incarcerated.

Feb. 17

MENACING: Police responded to a call referencing a male subject chasing a female in another vehicle, striking the vehicle, then fleeing the area. The male subject, Chandin M. Gambill,19, at-large, was charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor menacing and first-degree misdemeanor assault. This was reported on the 700 block of Virginia Street at 7:51 a.m.

HARASSMENT: Police responded to a call referencing a male contacting a female after he was warned for telecommunication harassment on Covington Avenue at 9:17 a.m. Samuel W. Luma, 28, of Waynesfield, was charged with first-degree misdemeanor telecommunications harassment in connection with this incident.

HIT SKIP: Caller reported that an unknown vehicle struck the mailboxes at a local trailer park on the 1600 block of South Main Street. Damages were photographed.

RECKLESS OPERATION: School transportation office reported a vehicle running bus lights in the area of South College Street and Young Street at 10:30 a.m.

THEFT: Rent-2-Own on Covington Avenue wanted to report a item rented had been pawned. Business requested the incident be documented.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: Subject reported damage to the vacant property on the 100 block of East Main Street at 11:20 a.m.

DISORDERLY: Police responded to a call referencing a male pushing another male on the 600 block of North Main Street at 4:27 p.m. Both subjects were located and were warned for disorderly conduct.
