Edison State hoop teams sweep Terra State

PIQUA — The Edison State Community College basketball teams will finish the regular season this weekend, hosting Bryant & Stratton Saturday and traveling to Lakeland Sunday.

The Chargers are coming off a sweep of Terra State Wednesday.

MEN

The Edison State men’s basketball team improved ot 17-7 with an 80-54 win.

The Chargers led 37-25 at halftime and pulled away in the second half.

Jaylen Robinson had 22 points and three steals and Ibrahima Athie added 19 points, 10 rebounds and four assists.

Jordan Howard had eight points, eight rebounds and five assists, Mike Kennedy had eight points, four assists and three steals and Shaeden Olden scored eight points.

Jakob Reed scored seven points and Sekou Maiga pulled down 10 rebounds.

WOMEN

The Edison State women improved to 25-0 and wrapped up the OCCAC title with a 101-44 win.

The Chargers led 29-7, 53-18 and 82-29 at the quarter breaks.

Kailah Johnson scored 19 points and Whitney Staggs added 15 points.

Allison Siefring had 12 points, nine rebounds and three steals and Maddy Bakosh had 10 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots.

Haleigh Behnken scored 11 points, Nia Johnson had 10 points and five rebounds and Kierra Wendel had eight points, five assists and five rebounds.

Audr Schaub scored eight points and Victoria Newland pulled down eight rebounds.

Rylie McIver had five rebounds and Trisa Porter had three steals.
