TROY — Troy Mayor Robin Oda has filed her petition with the Miami County Board of Elections to be re-elected as mayor of the city of Troy in the May 2023 Republican Primary.

Oda has served as mayor since Jan. 1, 2020. Before serving as mayor, she was elected four times to two-year terms as an at-large City Council member, serving from Jan. 1, 2012 to Dec. 31, 2019.

“I am excited to be running for my second term as mayor of Troy, Ohio,” Oda said. “After spending eight years as an at-large City Council member and the last three as mayor, I have the experience and knowledge needed to continue serving in this capacity.”

“Having lived here for the last 25 years and having raised our three children here, this is home,” she said. “I’m so very proud to represent this community, and to be leading it through what could be described as a wobbly roller-coaster ride the last three years resulting from a freak January 2020 tornado and then COVID. The city of Troy has continued to succeed and thrive throughout, becoming home to new businesses and residents alike.”

“We are noted in the region for our vibrancy and success, and Troy is the place where people want to live, work and play,” Oda said. “I want to continue that momentum, and keep Troy moving on a forward trajectory.”

Oda filed her petition with the Miami County Board of Elections on Tuesday, Jan. 3; the spring primary will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
