‘Christmas Memories’ concert set for Sunday

PIQUA — Tippecanoe Community Band will be hosted by Piqua Baptist Church, 1402 W. High St., Piqua, for an indoor concert of “Christmas Memories” on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021 at 7 p.m. More than 50 musicians under the direction of Ms. Gail Ahmed will celebrate 40 years as a community concert band. Piqua Baptist Church is a contemporary sanctuary beautifully bright and decorated for Christmas. Parking and easy handicapped access is from the large parking lot on the north side of the church. Public hearing set for Dec. 20

PIQUA — A public hearing will be held Monday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m. in the City Commission Chamber at the Piqua Municipal Government Complex Building, 201 W. Water St., Piqua.

Troy Planning Commission canceled

TROY — The Troy Planning Commission will not meet Dec. 22, 2021, as there are no agenda items. Next meeting date would be Jan. 12, 2022.

Piqua holiday closures

PIQUA — Piqua city offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 23, and Friday, Dec. 24, along with Friday, Dec. 31, to allow city employees to observe the Christmas and New Year holidays with their families.

Garbage, refuse, and recycling collections will remain on regular collection schedule for both of these weeks.

The city urges all customers to place their containers at their usual collection points the evening before for early pick-ups the following day.

Troy holiday closures

TROY — Troy city offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 23, and Friday, Dec. 24, for the Christmas holiday. City offices will also be closed on Friday, Dec. 31, for the New Year’s holiday.

City refuse collection and curbside recycling will not be delayed and will be collected on the usual weekly schedule. For questions related to refuse and recycling pickup, call the Central Maintenance and Service Facility at 937-335-1914.

Christmas tree collection scheduled

TROY — In cooperation with the Miami County Transfer Station and Recycling Center, the city of Troy will be collecting non-artificial Christmas trees after Christmas. Pickup will take place from Dec. 27 to Jan. 31.

Please place your tree at the curb for collection. All decorations, lights, and stands must be removed, and the tree must be unbagged.
