Roads to close
MIAMI COUNTY — Several road will close for roadwork in the coming week.
In Union Township, Milton-Potsdam Road will be closed between Rangeline Road and Davis Road from Tuesday, April 7 through Wednesday, April 8 for a culvert replacement.
In Troy, Atlantic Street from North Madison Street to North Elm Street will be closed from Monday, April 6 to Friday, April 10 to install a new water main.
Blood drives set
MIAMI COUNTY — Bradford High School will host a community blood drive Thursday, April 16 from 1-7 p.m. The Community Blood Center Bloodmobile will be at 750 Railroad Ave., Bradford.
Piqua Harley-Davidson will host a community blood drive Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1501 East Ash St., Piqua.
CBC is strongly advising donors to make an appointment at www.DonorTime.com or call (937) 461-3220 to allow for orderly and safe social distancing at blood drives and efficient blood collection.
SWCD cancels events
TROY — The Miami Soil and Water Conservation District’s tree and perennial pick-up has been canceled for April 6-7. The pick-up will take place from 2-6 p.m. May 19 and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 20 at the Miami County Fairgrounds. The order deadline was March 13 and no additional orders are being taken, so do not mail any orders into the office.
The fish fingerling sale is still a go for May 21 pick up at noon at the Miami SWCD parking lot. Order deadline is Friday, May 15.
The Tire Recycling Program for the Spring has been canceled. Staff hope to hold one in the fall.
The Tri County Pond Clinic for the spring also has been canceled. Staff hope to reschedule this event in the fall as well.
Skate park closed
TROY — In accordance with the Ohio Department of Health’s Stay at Home order, and at the request of the Park Board, Joe Reardon Skate Park has been closed.
Troy’s other city parks remain open; however, playgrounds and all park restroom facilities are closed. All basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts are also closed until further notice.
Park visitors are asked to stay safe, to observe the six-foot social distancing rule, and to respect the state orders against congregating. In addition, we are asking that park patrons take all trash with them when exiting the parks, in an effort to reduce the number of maintenance staff needed.
