School supply drive underway

TIPP CITY — Tipp Monroe Community Services is now collecting school supplies for children in need in Tipp City and Monroe Township. Book Bags and school supplies are given out during the last two weeks of the Lunch On Us program, a social service program offered by TMCS since 2007. Last year over 125 children received supplies. There are several blue donation tubs located around Tipp City including the TMCS office located at 3 E. Main St.

The following items are still needed: pencil bags, color pencils, markers, dry erase markers, highlighters, large pink erasers, pencil sharpeners, 5-inch and 7-inch pointed scissors, loose leaf paper (wide and college ruled), flash drives, scientific calculators, index card, and notebook dividers, and glue sticks. Monetary donations are also accepted.

Lunch On Us is a social service program offered by TMCS. Lunches are served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Tipp City United Methodist Church. For those children who cannot come into town to pick up their lunch, TMCS also has several drop-off locations. Tipp City Schools allows TMCS the use of one of their vans each year to make the deliveries easier.

Visit tmcomservices.org for a complete delivery route and approximate times, a list of school supplies being collected, collection tub locations, and for information about the program.
