PIQUA — A broken water main has lead to a boil advisory for many homes and businesses in the area of downtown Piqua on Monday.

City officials said that the break was reported around 6 a.m. on North Main Street at Greene Street.

Crews are on the scene working to isolate and repair the broken line, believed to be a six-inch diameter, main line.

Both North Main Street and Greene Street have been closed to traffic in the area of the break.

Piqua city officials said that door hangers have been distributed to homes and businesses affected by the break. A boil advisory is in effect for those homes and businesses.

City crews are working to make repairs and service will be restored as soon as possible.
