CareFlight lifts off from Interstate 75 following a crash involving a motorcycle on northbound I-75, north of Troy, around 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 29. The lone victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries. The crash is under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. I-75 northbound was shut down to accommodate CareFlight landing zone and the crash investigation.

TROY — A Florida man operating a motorcycle on Interstate 75 just north of Troy Monday afternoon is in critical condition following a crash with another vehicle.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s (OSP) Piqua Post, Donald Weddle, 48, of Sanderson, Florida, was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton after a crash that occurred on Monday, May 29, at 4:14 p.m.
Weddle was traveling northbound on I-75, at mile marker 77, behind a tan 2003 Ford Explorer, driven by Bret J. King, 42, of Kettering, when as King’s vehicle slowed for traffic, Weddle hit the rear of the Explorer.
Aside from OSP and CareFlight, Troy Fire Department also responded to the scene.
The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
