Beavercreek — Wright-Patt Credit Union (WPCU) will recognize the one-year anniversary of its Piqua Member Center during a two week-long celebration of giving, May 23 – June 4. During this time, community members can visit their Piqua Member Center, located at 1284 E. Ash Street in Piqua, to donate nonperishable food items benefitting The Bethany Center, a food bank and soup kitchen located in Piqua.

When it opened its doors one year ago, the Piqua Member Center focused on helping residents living and working in Piqua and neighboring communities. Today, nearly 12-hundred new members from the Piqua area have joined WPCU. They now enjoy lower loan rates, innovative financial products, and resources that help improve financial wellbeing.

“We are more than just a financial institution to our members,” said Tracy Szarzi-Fors, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for WPCU. “Not only are we fully invested in helping members in Piqua and surrounding areas achieve the financial flexibility and freedom they want, we continue to be a trusted partner focused on strengthening the communities we serve.”

An important component that continues to bolster the Piqua community is business partnerships, an area of focus for WPCU that will continue. Working alongside the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce, WPCU has fostered key relationships with business leaders that resulted in winning the Piqua Chamber Commercial Beautification Award.

In the upcoming months, the Piqua Member Center will host new networking events, special promotions, and a new membership drive designed to help introduce residents to all WPCU has to offer and how we help people through life.

Collection of all food items will take place inside the Piqua Member Center and those who donate will receive a five-dollar voucher to North Star Coffee Station, a local café and friend of WPCU. Community members who donate are encouraged to enjoy provided lite refreshments and learn more about available WPCU services.

“We are so excited to be celebrating the people of Piqua and being a part of this community,” said Renee Kroeplin-Collins, Manager of the Piqua Member Center. “It is rewarding to help people every day, we hope more people come see us and find out what this credit union is all about.”

For interested parties wishing to donate larger quantities of food items, we encourage contacting the Piqua Member Center in advance by calling 937-431-5662.
